Toyota Fuel System, Gasoline Questions

on a 2002 toyota highlander v6 when fuel tank gets about half full i can smell a fuel odor,seems to use more gas also,changed gas cap and no leaks under car.can't see anything wet

Driving my 2005 Toyota Corolla, 45,000 miles on it, it stalled and all the lights went on.  I had it towed and need a new fuel pump.  I argued with the dealership and they are paying for the part and I am paying for the labor, rental and tow.
