I just went thru the same type of repair on a similiar model year vehicle. There are 4 potential issues of concern regarding your problem.

The first is the engine oil cooler is most likely defective which is the current cause of the oil and water mixture and it is located under the intake manifold and costs approximately $ 300 and change and difficlut to find since it is a dealer item.

The second potential problem although the head gaskets were replaced I do hope that the heads were sent out to a machine shop and were checked for cracks ( none were found) and when they were reinstalled they were properly torqued as required by the vehicle manufacturer.

The third potential problem is that although the head gaskets were replaced, and the heads were inspected and not noted to be cracked the entire cooling system ( the radiator needs to be removed and thouroughly boiled out) at a radiator shop ( I had toi replace mine which costs approximately $ 175.00 and the rest of the cooling system needs to be completely drained and properly flushed out ( not with water but with 2 gallons of degreaser ( simple green) to replace the coolant and run the engine at idle for 1 hour and then drain and thoroughly rinsed with clean fresh water. This also includes radiator reservoir and or coolant tank,This process may possibly have to be repeated several times until the cooling system is completely decontaminated.

The fourth potential problem is that the thermostat is defective which is causing the overheating issue.

Good luck on resolving your problem and I hope the information provided is helpful !

Mike
