have an 02 saturn L300 have replaced fuel pump 3 times possiable fourth they are all OEM delphi pumps. Why is this happening? Replaced original pump because inlet and outlets were brittle and broke

The first questions I ask may or may not sound stupid, but my first question is was the fuel filter replaced? When fuel filters go bad they can cause dirt to get to the fuel pump and wear it out. So #1 is replace the fuel filter ever
