My 2007 Lincoln MKZ began overheating suddenly while driving after I had it about 2 wks. The mechanics could find no problem and replaced the radiator cap. Since that time, this has happened 3 other times, spaced as far apart as 1 year. Again, no findings of problem with the systems and only minor changes made with each visit to the shop. The car is currently in the shop after the last episode and now has over 74,000 miles. After engineers involvement, I have been now told this problem is the water pump. I am no mechanic, but have reasonable common sense and find that it is unlikely that a water pump could be defective for 4 years without being recognized by skilled mechanics. I suppose I should have contacted someone other than the company over these years, but, have tried to be reasonable and give Ford a chance to do good by me. It is obvious this car has a problem within its structure that cannot be identified. I believe I should have been offered another vehicle years ago. Now, I am at the point of pure disgustion with my "dream car". What a mess I am in now at a time I should be enjoying my new retirement! Any suggestions on whom I may contact for help outside of Ford?
