I recently bought a used 2002 honda civic. The cars history has been spotless...no accidents are anything like that. I noticed when i bought it that there is ice in the trunk and so i melted off the ice and after having removed the spare tire and the carpet and all else in the trunk i dried up all the water, laid down some news paper. took it through a car wash and saw a huge amount of water pouring in through the trunk. I looked at the rubber seal that goes all the way around the trunk and noticed it looked at bit torne up so i replaced it and thought i had solved the problem....PROBLEM NOT SLOVED! i got a friend to take a garden hose and spray the trunk with water as i was in the back seat with the seats folded down i was looking to see where the water was coming in. I saw the watter coming in the trunk as if there wasnt even a seal there. After further inspection i noticed that it looked like the TRUNK LID was too SMALL for the trunk???? The rubber seal doesnt even touch the lib when fully closed! WTF is going on!? how do i fix it?

The trunk lid on my 2008 Honda Accord has a half inch spread between the lid and the tail light assembly. Can that be adjusted?
