I have a 2012 Ford Escape Hybrid Limited. The rear left passenger seat belt would not loosen after attempting to remove our child from her car seat. It had retracted and locked the belt so tightly, that we couldnt unlatch the belt from the buckle. I had to cut the belt inorder to remove my child. Each time we gave the belt slack it wouldn't "unlock" the belt to allow to adjust the tension. I was told that it would cost me over $200.00 for the belt, no quote on the labor (addtional $200 I'm sure). This is a safety issue. the center belt is fine but the right rear passenger belt has recently become difficult when it comes to "releasing" the tension, for adult and children in carseats. Takes a lot of effort each time the belts "lock". The Escape is 1 and 1/2 years old. should this be covered under warrentee?
