I've had a problem with the anti-rattle clips on my 2008 E-150 since the day I bought it. I took it to Kerry Ford in cincinnati and the first time they said they could not reproduce the noise. Second time, the warranty was about to expire and they told me the anti-rattle clips were missing, they put them on and replaced the break pads. That took care of the problem. I then took it in for a 45,000 mile service and at the same time the steering felt stiff and when I would turn a corner I had to pull the steering wheel back to center, it would not return on it's own. Ford told me it was the tie rod ends were loose so they replaced them. $400.00. I drove it home and there was no change in the steering. So, I took it back, made the service manager drive it and he confirmed the problem. Then he told me the ball joints didn't have a grease fitting on them and they have siezed up, they installed grease fittings and pumped them full of grease. And wanted to replace them. $800.00. I asked about the anti-rattle clips and he told me it was the callipers and that it was normal. I told him their Ford dealership installed them 10 months ago and that the problem went away. He insisted it was the callipers and that it was normal. I will take it to a different dealer and see what they have to say. I will probably be back here to tell that story next.
