Had the same thing happen to my 04 Dakota quad cab....
Had the same thing happen to my 04 Dakota quad cab. Busted windshield, had it replaced twice by Wynn glass and in less than a week had a stress fracture on the driver side straight thru my N.Y. state inspection sticker and registration. This happened twice, wynn glass informed me there was a defect with MY TRUCK, not with there glass. I told them to call there supplier because i believed that there was to much extra product on the side of the windshield causing stress related fracturing. To make a real long story short the second glass fractured in exactly the same spot as the first, further destroying my inspection and reg stickers, i developed an attitude, went to our local junk yard, i meant to say "automotive recyclers", bought a used stock glass out of a 2001 Dakota, paid my 85.00 bucks plus 8% tax sales tax, took it to the "hero's" of glass replacement, Wynn Glass and had them install the used windshield. They could not offer me a warranty because IT was a used windshield nor would they guarantee that it wouldn't leak for the same reasons posted above. All i can is that this happened 3 years and some change ago and it still has yet to fracture, crack, leak or fall out on the hood!!. AND i get great satisfaction about 2 to 3 times a year i wheel on in toot the horn, of course they ALL look to see WTF's going on, i point to the windshield, give them a big smile let 'em know there number one with my middle finger and off i go with my used windshield. That's my suggestion, sure beats having morons to tell you that YOU don't shit when you can out smart them by supplying factory correct glass FROM THE FACTORY BY THE FACTORY for a fraction of the cost.
