This is a SERIOUS situation! My best friend is facing up to 10 years in jail due to a traffic accident in connection to this question, so ANY help would be greatly appreciated! It's a long story, but the bottom line is this; WHOEVER was driving this 1999 Chevrolet Lumina that evening ended up ALLEGELDY crossing the center line and making impact with another vehicle at approx. 35-45 mph. The police are saying that the vehicle was then driven ANOTHER approx. 1.5 miles, making 4-5 turns along the way )1 of which was a sharp U-turn) at which time the vehicle jumped a curb and ended up in a ditch, resulting in a single car accident. Is it even possible for a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina to be DRIVEN, much less to be driven that far after BOTH airbags have been deployed and not to mention that at some point in the evening the front axle had been broken? There's no proof that this vehicle was involved in the first accident. It was obviously involved in the second accident. The second accident was definitely substantial enough for both airbags to have been deployed and for the acle to have been broken. I have looked and looked and I cannot find this information on the internet anywhere. If you've worked in the industry and know for a fact, one way or another, whether or not there is a safety feature or device on this make and model making it impossible for it to be driven this distance after a severe impact, PLEASE let me know! OR if you know where to find this information, please tell me where to look. Thank you for any help you can offer!!!
