This is the third instance of sudden acceleration, just barely stoppable with use of the brake. Got the car stopped, turned the engine off. Started up again and behaved normall. In the first instance it happened 3 times within 2 hours. The second time only once, and this time only once. I had thought it had been repaired the first two times, but apparently not. If this is, as it seems to be, a generic problem with this car (only 76,000 miles; I'm glad it never happened while my mother was driving it), what do I do next?

Check the coil packs. One or more of them could have failed.

My 1995 Cadillac El Dorado with North Star Engine idles rough even after changing

I recently had a right front axle and sway bar replaced on my 2000 Eldo etc. Car drives fine but as I was driving it today the power cut out for a few seconds and the steering got very stiff... then back to normal... TCS 1287 code appeared ... st

Security system is intermitant. If it does not work, I have to use the key to unlock the door...and than turn on the ignition switch... the horn blows and  lights flash AND the motor runs until I press the key button into the open position twice
