2002 BMW 745i Transmission Failure issues

This issue has a lot to do with your Mechatronic Module system that your BMW is equipped with, but it’s a very simple fix. The issue with the hard shift down, not shifting and occasional hard jumps which feels as if you was just rammed in the rear by a tractor trailer, has to do with a little plastic piece called “Bridge Seal” (part # ZF 0501215718) that is located in you transmission.

One of the most important things needed in a transmission in order for them to work properly is the pressure level. Here is where the little plastic piece called “Bridge Seal” plays its part in causing some many headaches. Because this is a very easily damaged piece in the large puzzle called the 7series transmission system; when it cracks, bents or breaks your pressure level in your 7 series goes under the necessary pressure levels needed to shift without any issues. In other words, the seal around the electrical connector at the rear of your transmission, where the wiring harness comes into the transmission plugs in the mechatronic unit starts to fail, pressure is lost, fluid can make its way into the connector and create all crazy types of issues (Transmission failure during driving, stuck in park issues and the famous hit from the back by a tractor trailer when stopping at a stop sign).
I have done ton of research because I myself own a 2002 BMW 745i and I’m having the same problems. If all that I have looked into is correct, by Saturday March 19, 2011 evening this problem should be fixed. When you have these issues and you have asked everywhere and you have spent tons of money to just continue to have the problems, piece the dealer of and have them change the “Bridge seal” have them reset your system and everything should change. Hope this helps….

BMW dealers need to get their stories straight and fix these issues for the people that helped them launch the new e65 in 2002 and stop the BS.

Thanks
