Toyota Tacoma 2000 Visibility Rearview Mirrors/devices ExteriorToyota Tacoma 2000 Visibility Rearview Mirrors/devices Exterior Review #719953 TOYOTA TACOMA 2000 car safety problem was reported on Feb 17, 2000.TOYOTA TACOMA 2000, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES:EXTERIOR . to: national highway traffic safety administration,i bought a brand new 2000 toyota tacoma prerunner a couple of weeks ago and i noticed that there is something wrong with my driver side mirror. i talked to the service department in the dealership and they changed the mirror for me. the problem is still there. it is hard to focus on what is on the mirror and it bothers my eyes. on the first day i had a red eye and a little bit of pain. after that i couldn't use my mirror. the mirror is closed since i bought the car. i went back to the dealership and they showed me couple outer trucks, it was same ting i asked what should i do they told me that they can not do anything else and i should call toyota. i called there and the day after somebody from the dealership (toni hall) called me and she made an appointment on wednesday 3/8/00 1:30 p.m. to meet somebody from toyota (mr. fred gilbert). i went there and after half of an hour of waiting and searching for somebody to help me, at 2:00 p.m. mr. fred gilbert came. and he decided to test drive the vehicle. he told me nothing is wrong with it (maybe because it was rainy that day and he didn't find any problem or). he said if you want call toyota again. i called and told them the situation, than they sent me a letter (decision remains our final position). now i am writing this because this is very important and i am in danger by driving a truck without the driver side mirror, so far i was going to have two accidents. i also asked some people to drive my new truck to see the mirror, incase i was wrong, they did and find that the mirror is defected. if i am wrong what abut this people (almost ten persons). please help me to solve this problem by having government engineers analyze the problem. thank you. *ak.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):4TASN92N0YZ. Toyota Tacoma 2000 TiresToyota Tacoma 2000 Tires Review #753433 TOYOTA TACOMA 2000 car safety problem was reported on .TOYOTA TACOMA 2000, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with TIRES . we purchased a toyota tacoma with extended warranty from toyota of easley in august of 2000. when the truck had about 12000 miles on it, the front tires were wearing irregularly. i called the toyota dealership and they said that the front end needed alignment so i took it back to them to do so. since the front tires by then were worn pretty badly, i asked them to rotate the tires. they would not rotate the tires under warranty, so i paid them to rotate the tires. they didn't even want to talk about replacing the worn tires. after about another 12000 miles, the front tires have worn the same way again. i called the dealership and they said to bring it in. i told them that aligning the front end did not fix it before and after arguing with them for some time, they told me they would contact technical service and see what might be causing the problem. they were supposed to call me back and let me know what they were going to do to fix the problem. they have not called. it's been about a week and a half. i have called them several times since then and each time was told they haven't heard anything from technical service yet. i called two days ago and the service manager told me again, that he would call me back. i have called several times since then and each time, i have been told that he was out doing a test drive. i have left my name and number and asked that he return my call and as of yet he has not called me back. i presently have a truck that is a year old and has excessive wear on all four tires now and have front end problems that i am unable to get the dealership to do anything about. can you offer any suggestions? thank you. david loftis. *ak.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):5TENL42N7YZ. Toyota Tacoma 2000 Structure Frame And Members Underbody ShieldsToyota Tacoma 2000 Structure Frame And Members Underbody Shields Review #10512622 TOYOTA TACOMA 2000 car safety problem was reported on Apr 20, 2013.TOYOTA TACOMA 2000, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with STRUCTURE: FRAME AND MEMBERS:UNDERBODY SHIELDS . i purchased my tacoma new in 2001 and recently i heard of a recall concerning the frame of the vehicle, so i took my truck to glenn toyota in frankfort ky. i was told that the frame was bad after they checked the frame by hitting it with a hammer and putting a hole in the frame. i was told they would buy back my truck for 1.5 times the blue book value. we done some paper work when they realized my truck was a 2001 instead of a 2000. i was then told they would neither buy back my vehicle nor fix my truck they put a hole in. i filed a complaint with toyota and i was told they did not have to fix or buy back my truck because it was a ?voluntary recall?. this allowed them to no longer honor any part of this recall which includes not fixing nor buying back the trucks with frame problems that are newer then 2000. i was also told i had waited too long from the time the recall was first issued. i was in the military during the issuing of this recall. during my military obligation i spent a year in afghanistan and a year in iraq. clearly i was not in a position to hear of the recall nor bring my vehicle into a dealership. not only is this business practice not fair (doing one thing for one customer and not offering the same deal to the next), but toyota clearly knows there is unsafe vehicles on the road and does not want to fix their mistake. toyota has made the decision that if the vehicles from the years ranging 1996-2000 failed the same test that my vehicle failed it was unsafe and should be bought back. i know that this must be a safety concern or toyota would no longer test the vehicles from 1996-2000 still. i am very disappointed how toyota has handled this situation, especially since i work for toyota motor manufacturing of kentucky (tmmk), and i feel toyota should be held accountable for the vehicles they are selling. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 128933 miles. got a 99 solara with abs light on trac off light on any clues to what could be problem,seems like a common problem '88 toyota camry i want to know if my car has the proper hooks required by law for a baby car seat? I have a 2006 Rav 4 also with the same problem. The lights were intermittant and usually if it was cold or if I turned the corner hard the lights would come on. The car has 50,000 miles and I check the brakes pads they have about 5 to 6 K left.
