TOYOTA RX300 2004 car safety problem was reported on Jan 18, 2008.TOYOTA RX300 2004, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with EQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELS . 2003 toyota matrix the vehicle odometer currently shows 57,108 miles. on january 24th, the clutch went out and would not shift into gear. the car was towed ($45) to our mechanic at polly's shell in nashville and we paid the following amount to have the clutch replaced: clutch set: $268 additional parts: 42 tow: 45 labor: 455 oil: 38 the total bill with other items came to more than $900.00. a copy of the original receipt is enclosed. when we examined the clutch, the pressure plate disc had broken into four equal parts. in addition to our regular mechanic, other mechanics at polly¿s commented that the fact the mechanism broke equally into four parts is obviously the result of a manufacturer's defect since this type fracture had nothing to do with the way the vehicle was driven. *tr .Toyota Rx300 2004 problem was reported in NASHVILLE, TN. TOYOTA RX300 2004 car safety problem was reported on Oct 19, 2007.TOYOTA RX300 2004, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with EQUIPMENT . i have a toyota rav4 2002-in may 2006 i went to military training school, i got back oct 2006 while driving my engine failed on the hwy. i took it to toyota and they told me it was 420 miles over the warranty and it was not covered. i did all my required upkeep and maintenance and to my surprise it had oil sludge. he claims its from sitting but alot of vehicles sit and do not have problems especially military members that are deployed. i had to pay 3989.00 for a used engine. after researching and finding out 2001 -03 camry and lexus had the same problems and were recalled. i fought got and attorney and still no recall. i hope to have a civil lawsuit with toyota because of this but it never happened. march 2007 my transmission went out while on the hwy. i was driving and notice it kept jerking. then it would hesitate getting into gear and reverse. i took it to a toyota dealer and they told me my transmission is going out and it would cost 4980.00. ok let me break down the existing problems up until this point. the drivers door electric locking system went out it was repaired 4 times, the check engine light never goes off said its a electrical problem. the alarms comes on and will not go off even when door key or key pad is indicated. so i had to unhook. yesterday march 31st i was done with the rav 4. i have notice that more than 35 % of owners have this problems and toyota refuses to recall. *tr.Vehicle was involved in a crash. 1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Toyota Rx300 2004 problem was reported in WICHITA, KS. (i don't know what kind of floor pad, i bought it in 1999 and installed it then, it is one of the thick ones that is good a holding snow and water.) i figured out that the floor pad was the problem while the engine was revving to 90 mph and the brakes would not stop the car. lexus could find nothing wrong but said nothing to me about this being a problem in toyota products. no crash and no injury since i figured it out; the floor mat felt thick to my foot so i yanked it out from under the pedals. just really scary.... specifically, i came out of a side street on to a main road and needed to get ahead of traffic so i stomped in the accelerator pretty hard- not my typical driving style- and then the accelerator stuck, the car revving and going to 90- 100 mph. i stood on the brakes but it would not stop. i tried to throw it into park ( but thankfully the car wouldn't let me- i was thinking about trying to use the parking brake to stop it, but it doesn't have a hand brake so that's why i was so stupid and tried to throw it in park. the noise from that was so horrifying i did not put it in neutral). then i felt the lumpy floor mat and yanked it out from underneath the pedals. it was late at night and there were no cars on the road so i had a mile of clear road to work this out. car had about 275,000 miles on it. built in july 1998, jt6h10u7x0032830 is serial i can't give you the exact date because i can't find the service receipt- sorry!.Toyota Rx300 2004 problem was reported in ANN ARBOR, MI. TOYOTA RX300 2004 car safety problem was reported on Nov 01, 2009.TOYOTA RX300 2004, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL . please looking into the lexus rx330 models. i previously owned a 2005 lexus rx330. i didn't experience the brake problems or acceleration. what i experienced that once i press on the brake at a red light or stop. the vehicle tend to still be moving slightly forward. then i would have to press the brakes harder in order for the vehicle to come to a complete stop. this was at 5mph or less. i believe it's the computer controlled unit for the gas. you can actual feel in the break and engine that the vehicle does not want to come to a complete stop. i also went thru the recall to replace the cover on the driver side that the dealer stated it was causing the floor mat stuck to the gas pedal. in my opinion it's the cpu that may be causing the problem. you can hear and feel the engine still having a slight roar after the brake is pressed on, as if gas is still being applied or reduced in the engine. *tr.Toyota Rx300 2004 problem was reported in ROSEMEAD, CA. TOYOTA RX300 2004 car safety problem was reported on Mar 09, 2010.TOYOTA RX300 2004, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL . i have a toyota tundra 2005 that has had the throttle drivers updated. i have had at least 6 incidences of uncontrolled acceleration. these incidences occur at slow speed in muddy situations. depressing the brakes to the floor does not stop the vehicle and i have had several near misses. this occurs in 2 wheel drive and i believe it has to do with the vsc and software. the only way to stop the throttle or unwanted momentum is to throw the vehicle into neutral. even this does not immediately help. i recommend the ignition key as the quickest way to stop this. additionally, our company has a newer tundra that is getting fixed under the recall. this truck has experienced similar situations with other employees driving. slow speeds in 2 wheel drive, in muddy situations the truck pushes you uncontrollably. i will investigate more once the truck is returned with the recall repairs. this all is related to the vsc system and the software. please have an investigator call me. i believe that i can easily reproduce this situation in the vehicle. these vehicles are unsafe and toyota needs to address these issues. i don't believe the current recall is addressing the issue! *tr.Toyota Rx300 2004 problem was reported in PHILO, CA. TOYOTA RX300 2004 car safety problem was reported on Jan 26, 2011.TOYOTA RX300 2004, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL . i took my 2004 toyota highlander v6 to longo toyota for brake booster recall in november 2010. they kept my car nearly 7 weeks before repair was completed. a few days after picking up my vehicle, while i was parked dropping off my passenger, most of the control panel lights illuminated (brakes, abs, trac off, vsc, check engine). i reported this to the dealer. they said to bring the car back. i took the car back and diagnostic tests were run and concluded that a code was stored but it was nothing specific that had failed. brake system was bled. in june 2011, the light cluster ("christmas tree" is how the dealer refers to it) illuminated again while i was attempting to pick up my car from my local toyota dealer (bob smith toyota). again, the car was left. again it was reported to me that the system had stored a code but no specific component was in failure and the brakes were bled. approximately, july 20, 2011 and july 23, 2011, the lights illuminated again, only four of them (trac off, vsc, abs, brakes). i contacted the toyota dealer on tuesday, july 26 and was forcing the issue on july 29, 2011 and made an appointment for august 1, 2011. on july 31, 2011, the same four lights illuminated while driving and stayed on. i stopped, turned off the engine, restarted the vehicle, and experienced a very spongy, squishy brake pedal. i contacted toyota motor corporation to further address the concern of my vehicle now being unsafe as a result of their recall. toyota motor corporation was vague and said that the matter could only be addressed by longo toyota, the dealer that performed the recall, since the parts warranty would only be with them. in contacting bob smith toyota, the service advisors swears that the problem can be resolved by them. it appears that performing the recall weakened the integrity of my brake system. as one representative said, "you will not have a catastrophic failure and you will still be able to stop. it will just take longer." *kb.Toyota Rx300 2004 problem was reported in MONTROSE, CA. TOYOTA RX300 2004 car safety problem was reported on May 01, 2011.TOYOTA RX300 2004, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with EQUIPMENT . after only about 3-4 years use, the rubber cover on the hatch release handle (the exterior handle of the rear hatch) of our 2007 toyota prius has melted into a sticky tarry black rubbery gooey mess. i can best describe it as being a viscous black glob like roofing tar. to open the hatch, you have to touch this black goo each time, which makes it difficult to operate the hatch release. we believe this melting process started at about the 3 yr. mark. i thought that this might be a singular issue, but have found that this has happened to several car owners. toyota knows about this, and is selling the entire wiring harness for $96 plus repair costs, and has done nothing about a recall. from a safety perspective, this means you can experience extreme difficulty opening the rear hatch (a life safety access point), and will get sticky black tar on you from the melted down rubber cover of the exterior hatch release handle. to me, this is both a serious life safety issue and a serious quality defect that toyota is opting to ignore and only fixing on vehicles with extended warranties, since the failure appears to occur at around the 3 year mark. i am aware of the outstanding work done by nhtsa on other safety issues, so i am asking for your agency to take a look at these instances and also to inquire from toyota why they are not recalling these handles that are melting. a door handle or hatch handle should be made to last more than 3 years. for more reports of this problem, please review this forum: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...runk-hatch-release-rubber-piece-melted-4.html thank you for your assistance! *tr.Toyota Rx300 2004 problem was reported in RICHMOND, VA.
