Toyota Prius 2012 SeatsToyota Prius 2012 Seats Review #10441922 TOYOTA PRIUS 2012 car safety problem was reported on Dec 30, 2011.TOYOTA PRIUS 2012, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with SEATS . the drivers seat does not raise far enough to allow shorter drivers to see over the dash board , base of windshield and rear of hood. this prevents shorter drivers from being able to see the the ground anywhere near the car. giving the drivers a 2 dimensional view of the traffic and objects between 3 and 5 feet high. anything below 3 foot tall is not visible for 30 to 50 feet in front of the car. the raised belt line is also causing this problem of 2 dimensional views verses 3 dimensional views. this is a serious safety issue.. it could be fixed with increased travel height for the drivers seat. as i have had to offer several friend chair cushions to prop them up so they could see.. when i looked in the car. i don't think do to the windshield angle.. that i being almost 6 foot tall could see the ground anywhere near the front of the car either. i don't fit in these cars. *kb.Toyota Prius 2012 problem was reported in LOS ANGELES, CA. Toyota Prius 2012 Service Brakes, HydraulicToyota Prius 2012 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Review #10445290 TOYOTA PRIUS 2012 car safety problem was reported on Dec 11, 2011.TOYOTA PRIUS 2012, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . sunday dec. 11th: pulling out of chicago garage, car makes odd rotational noise. the sound seems to go away after about a block or so of driving. the dealership is closed and i am booked up with clients, so i continue to test and see if temperature or environment effect the noise. the noise appears to only happen on a 'cold start' but all other factors do not seem to show an impressive change. dec. 15th: i call toyota corporate and file a complaint, then per their direction, call the dealer and make an appointment to have the noise problem fixed. jan. 13th: after several calls to corporate, and having taken the car in three times to the dealership (midtown toyota- chicago), i have been informed by one of the service employees that toyota is having a problem with many of these models. they think it is a back brake issue, perhaps defective part(s). as both toyota & the dealership are not officially telling me this. this is what i know, they have been lying to me as a consumer and me and other customers are driving a car with a potential safety problem. i do not feel safe driving this car. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 2000 miles. Toyota Prius 2012 Seat BeltsToyota Prius 2012 Seat Belts Review #10446096 TOYOTA PRIUS 2012 car safety problem was reported on Feb 01, 2012.TOYOTA PRIUS 2012, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with SEAT BELTS . the latch system design on the seats on the new prius v is flawed. instead of having four latch points, one set of two for the left seat and one set of two for the right seat, they have only three latch points, one in the middle of the left seat, one in the middle of the right seat and one in the middle of car. our child safety seat has three buckles designed to work with the latch system, one on the left, one on the right and a top tether. the left and right buckles cannot attach to the same latch point because then the child safety seat will pivot. this means one must install the child safety seat at an offset to the car's seat, using the middle and right latch points for a child safety seat installed on the right side. but then the top tether, which must go over the top of the seat down to a latch point, is no longer as secure as it should be, since the latch point is then off-center with regard to the top tether. if the child is old enough that they need to use the car's seat belts with the child safety seat (e.g., a booster seat) instead of the restraints built-into the child safety seat, one can't buckle in the seat belt because the buckle intended for the right side of the car is buried underneath the offset child safety seat. the middle buckle is designed to not work with the side seat belts. if one uses the left side buckle with the right side seat belt, it's not as secure, and then the left side passenger (or a second child safety seat) has no seat belt. so a proper use of the seat belts requires the child safety seat to be centered on the seat, but then either the latches are connected at an offset or they are connected to the same latch and pivot. either way the child safety seat is not really secure. *tr.Toyota Prius 2012 problem was reported in CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA. Toyota Prius 2012 Vehicle Speed ControlToyota Prius 2012 Vehicle Speed Control Review #10474289 TOYOTA PRIUS 2012 car safety problem was reported on Sept 03, 2012.TOYOTA PRIUS 2012, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . driving 70 mph car began to go into high rpm, then accelerated to 74 from 70 mph. i tried to decrease speed then vehicle shut off got a long beep and message on display "check hybrid system, pull over immediately" all lights on dash were indicating failures. coasted to safety with 5 passengers in vehicle across traffic at 9:30 pm to shoulder. tried to restart several times then vehicle went into high rpm then engine knocked loudly and was completely disabled. lost brakes, pedal was hard, lost power steering, difficult to maneuver. i still had 2 bars indicating plenty of fuel in car. prior fillup was 7.6 gallons at pump, usually get over 500 miles per tank, trip meter only showed under 400 miles since fill up so had plenty of fuel and there was no low fuel indicator. reported all problems to dealer. they only noted the car shut down but told me they confirmed everything i said and that toyota engineers are trying to resolve this since they are aware of this type of problem. so far dealer and toyota have not addressed the high rpm, the acceleration, loss of electronics and hybrid system failure and told me they havenever heard of any toyota ever having a report of a high rpm or acceleration without intent to accelerate form the driver. vehicle is unsafe, has 4944 miles and this problem occurred about a month after purchase. toyota still does not know what the problems are and in possession of the vehicle. *tr *js.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 4944 miles. Toyota Prius 2012 Electrical SystemToyota Prius 2012 Electrical System Review #10474289 TOYOTA PRIUS 2012 car safety problem was reported on Sept 03, 2012.TOYOTA PRIUS 2012, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . driving 70 mph car began to go into high rpm, then accelerated to 74 from 70 mph. i tried to decrease speed then vehicle shut off got a long beep and message on display "check hybrid system, pull over immediately" all lights on dash were indicating failures. coasted to safety with 5 passengers in vehicle across traffic at 9:30 pm to shoulder. tried to restart several times then vehicle went into high rpm then engine knocked loudly and was completely disabled. lost brakes, pedal was hard, lost power steering, difficult to maneuver. i still had 2 bars indicating plenty of fuel in car. prior fillup was 7.6 gallons at pump, usually get over 500 miles per tank, trip meter only showed under 400 miles since fill up so had plenty of fuel and there was no low fuel indicator. reported all problems to dealer. they only noted the car shut down but told me they confirmed everything i said and that toyota engineers are trying to resolve this since they are aware of this type of problem. so far dealer and toyota have not addressed the high rpm, the acceleration, loss of electronics and hybrid system failure and told me they havenever heard of any toyota ever having a report of a high rpm or acceleration without intent to accelerate form the driver. vehicle is unsafe, has 4944 miles and this problem occurred about a month after purchase. toyota still does not know what the problems are and in possession of the vehicle. *tr *js.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 4944 miles. Toyota Prius 2012 Visibility/wiper Review #10483561 TOYOTA PRIUS 2012 car safety problem was reported on Mar 08, 2012.TOYOTA PRIUS 2012, manufactured by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION had a problem with VISIBILITY/WIPER . vehicle windshield has an apparent critical defect in production. light passing through the windshield is replicated above and below the source of light. as light source becomes more distant, light is replicated 2, 3, or 4 times more than its source (as distance increases). this creates a major hazard during night driving and driving when the sun is low enough in the sky where it can be seen through the windshield. in some cases, the effect is blinding. i have found this to be a major safety hazard and one that could result in injury or fatality. more recently, after the time change, i have been leaving for work when the sun is lower in the sky and this creates a blinding effect. i have had two near misses in the past two days because of this. i am also having to drive home in the dark which is dangerous as oncoming headlights are amplified in intensity and can appear to be as if the oncoming lights are high-beams. this issue has existed since i took delivery of the new car and when talking to the selling dealer, i am continually brushed off and have yet to have it fixed or even looked at. dealership personnel admit they have heard of the issue, but cannot provide information as to the fix or how toyota is dealing with these complaints. at this point, with two near misses recently, i see the car as being unsafe for driving. i will be contacting toyota to file a complaint regarding this issue. i will also be contacting the dealership management to arrange drop off of the car until it can be made safe to drive. in my own research, i have found numerous complaints detailing the same issues online and a couple videos showing the exact same issues. one such source is: http://priuschat.com/threads/2011-prius-windshield-triples-light-source-images.100008/ and a video is available: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fjsqpu1-axi. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 170 miles. (a software problem related to the car engine stopping while driving) when we learned of the recall we remembered this had happened to us about a month earlier, again, on the interstate at 65 mph & thought it was just a fluke at the time. we were very upset when this latest incident happened after having the recall repair done on the car & having driven a few thousand miles between incidents. we drove the car directly to our dealer's service dept and reported these facts to the service manager. they immediately took it in and tried to detect any evidence of the incident. they told us that they also contacted toyota corporate technical services for assistance. they were not able to find any evidence of the incident. as we are now afraid to drive the car, they gave us a car to drive until the problem could be resolved. we don't want to see this car sold to an unsuspecting driver. we feel this is a life threatening defect and toyota should repurchase the car from us at a fair value so that we could replace it with another car. we contacted the toyota customer experience center yesterday by phone and filed a formal complaint, they opened a file and gave us a case number. today we were contacted by phone by a toyota regional analyst and were told that since they cannot find any evidence of the incident by using their computer system we would need to file a lemon law complaint. we told him that we expect toyota to resolve our issue - we should not have to prove the defect. help. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 31000 miles. (i understand now that it's "biogradable soy based wiring insulation.) i generally park my car at only two locations - my home and my work. i had never seen any rodents of any type! i can't imagine what would have happened if one of the wires to the engine, or airbags, or any system for that matter separated while i was driving. apparently, toyota is aware of this problem but is trying to downplay it! i was told it's not a warranty item. my car requires two new wiring harnesses, the alarm wiring, and the airbag harness plus other repairs..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 33200 miles. Toyota Prius 2012 SeatsToyota Prius 2012 Seats Review #10669290 TOYOTA PRIUS 2012 car safety problem was reported on Nov 24, 2014.TOYOTA PRIUS 2012, manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation had a problem with SEATS . i was driving down the interstate with my factory installed seat warmer on the driver's seat on. i got out at a gas station to go to the bathroom. when i sat down on the toilet i felt an excruciating pain on my left upper back side of the thigh. the car seat gave me second degree burns on the back of my upper left thigh. i went to the er the next morning when more blisters appeared so that the open and closed blisters could be cleaned and dressed. i was given a tetanus shot as well. i contacted toyota the day after the incident after being seen by the er. i spoke with a claims adviser on dec. 1, 2014 who asked me to email pictures of the driver's seat and pictures of my burns. i was then contacted dec. 9, 2014 by toyota to be told a toyota inspector would inspect the vehicle on dec. 18, 2014. the vehicle was inspected and i have not been given any information to date (12/31/14) nor has my vehicle been fixed. i am awaiting toyota to contact me on the outcome of the inspection. the dealership told me i cold not have the seat warmer fixed until toyota went through their process of documenting the incident due to me being injured..1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 28000 miles. got a 99 solara with abs light on trac off light on any clues to what could be problem,seems like a common problem '88 toyota camry i want to know if my car has the proper hooks required by law for a baby car seat? I have a 2006 Rav 4 also with the same problem. The lights were intermittant and usually if it was cold or if I turned the corner hard the lights would come on. The car has 50,000 miles and I check the brakes pads they have about 5 to 6 K left. I passanger frount seatbelt tightens up during brakeing and then does not loosen up ? passanger is then held to seat and must remove seatbelt to gain freedom . help - my 1999 toyota corolla power windows stop working. i don't want to spend alot of money on this car. any ideas where tostart 2009 ac drain clogged filled car with 1 inch of water.
