Subaru Legacy 2006 Visibility Windshield Wiper/washer MotorSubaru Legacy 2006 Visibility Windshield Wiper/washer Motor Review #10149025 SUBARU LEGACY 2006 car safety problem was reported on Jan 17, 2006.SUBARU LEGACY 2006, manufactured by SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. had a problem with VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER:MOTOR . dt*: the contact stated while traveling the windshield wipers turned off after 5 hours of use. the wipers came back on and went off again three times before quitting. the vehicle was towed to a dealership and left over night before it could be inspected the next morning. upon inspection the windshield wipers worked. according to the owner's manual there is a safety feature that turns off the wiper motor before it becomes too hot. although the circuit breaker did not appear to be faulty the dealership replaced it. during the return trip the wipers failed again. the vehicle will be taken into the dealership. *nm updated 2/28/2006 - the vehicle was taken back to the dealer who stated that the problem was faulty brushings in the wiper motor. *nm .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 1200 miles. (1) fuel system ceased to operate while vehicle in motion. this was the second occurrence of this problem (supposedly, servicing corrected the problem after the first time) (2) car was stuck inside a nature reserve that has limited access. although i have the full warranty package, i could not get appropriate service to tow the car out for 1.5 days, and so missed 1 day of work. (3) the first time this happened, the fuel pump and related parts were replaced. this time, i found and replaced a burnt-out fuse for the fuel pump, and the new fuse immediately burnt out when i tried to start the car. it has now been towed to my dealer (1.5 hours away from where the problem occurred). Subaru Legacy 2006 Engine And Engine Cooling EngineSubaru Legacy 2006 Engine And Engine Cooling Engine Review #10232580 SUBARU LEGACY 2006 car safety problem was reported on June 24, 2008.SUBARU LEGACY 2006, manufactured by SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE . on june 24, 2008 my 06 subaru legacy lgt wagon suffered a serious engine failure. my oil pickup tube completely sheared off from the engine block due to a design flaw. apparently this is a known problem with these pickup tubes for the subaru legacy & impreza models. i called the dealership to report my oil light was flashing, and i was told by the dealership rep "to drive it in and they will check it out". i asked again are you sure its ok to drive and was told yes. later that day i called the dealer and asked what was going on and was told "my car would not be able to be looked at today but i could come get it and bring it in tomorrow". i again asked what was wrong and was told "they pulled a couple of cam timing codes but the car was ok to drive". then 20 minutes later the dealer called me and said "we have to put you in a loaner car because we drove your car into the shop checked your oil level which was fine, but when we tested your oil pressure we found it to be zero so the car is not drivable, and if i did i would blow the motor". i explained to the rep again but what about me being told to drive it in here. again was told "don't worry your car can go sometime without oil because of the new oils today & the way engines are built". without an oil pickup tube your engine has no oil pressure, in some severe cases the only indication that there was a problem is your oil light will flash then boom you blew your engine. the dealership insists "my engine is fine and it can run without oil pressure for sometime without causing any damage". every mechanic i talk to states your engine can not last with out oil, and it has caused harm to the engine or components of my engine. subaru did replace the part under warranty but now i am left with a damage motor no extra added insurance. subaru refusing to either rebuild my current motor or put a new one in. please someone help my car is only two years old with 37000 miles on it. sincerely, desperate *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 37837 miles. Subaru Legacy 2006 Power Train Manual TransmissionSubaru Legacy 2006 Power Train Manual Transmission Review #10237821 SUBARU LEGACY 2006 car safety problem was reported on Aug 05, 2008.SUBARU LEGACY 2006, manufactured by SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. had a problem with POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION . i have an 06 subaru legacy gt.at my 30,000mile checkup the report states good except the rear brake pads & rotors which is rated; may require follow up attention.the rear rotors were machined. at 37,778 miles the radio was replaced due to it shorting out. at this mileage my coolant cap is no longer holding pressure & has to be replaced. at 44,542miles, the invoice says replace rear brakes as only the brake pads were replaced & the rear rotors were machined 6,000miles ago. at 47,560 miles fourth gear is grinding.the invoice states; found low/dirty manual transmission fluid.the transmission fluid was changed at 30,000miles & the fluid levels are to be checked at every visit which was last at 47,478 miles.transmission fluid was replaced.at 47,560 miles; found rear brake rotors warped excessively.this was not mentioned at 44,542miles when the rear brake pads were replaced. the rear brake rotors were resurfaced at this time again; as the front rotors were to thin & were replaced. from 3-5-08 when the last major inspection was done the front rotors were marked;may require follow up attention.on 4-17-08 the rotors are too thin and need to be replaced.at 50,129 miles the wheel bearings were replaced.the leaking inner axle seals was unnoticed by the technician until i mentioned it. the invoice states;the technician found the front inner axle seals leaking. found knocking noise coming from both front axles caused by lack of grease due to leaking boots. the axle boots were replaced. at 53,455 miles found front rotors warped, resurfaced front rotors as they were just replaced at 47,560 miles. the clutch feels that it is not working properly,fourth gear is grinding again & is difficult to get into gear.when shifting at times, clutch will be completely disengaged and vehicle revs to 5000+rpms for no reason.i picked my vehicle up to take to my transmission specialist for a 2nd opinion; the hood wasn't closed, it was only latched..Mileage was 29000 miles. Subaru Legacy 2006 Vehicle Speed ControlSubaru Legacy 2006 Vehicle Speed Control Review #10508470 SUBARU LEGACY 2006 car safety problem was reported on Apr 16, 2013.SUBARU LEGACY 2006, manufactured by Subaru of America, Inc. had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . i was driving in the left lane of the highway during rush hour when the accelerator stopped responding. i would push the gas pedal and nothing would happen. the engine seemed to be running nominally (idling, since the accelerator wasn't working). no unusual sounds, no jerking, nothing. then the check engine light came on. i managed to get across the lanes of traffic coasting and rolled slowly into a gas station. i turned the car off and turned it back on and everything worked fine again. i finished driving to work without incident. i went after work and had the check engine code read. it was a stored code (no longer actively faulted) of p2138 which is a throttle position sensor error. i've been reading online and this appears to be very common and an ongoing problem for lots of people. it is incredibly dangerous to not be able to control your car randomly in the middle of the road. hopefully you can help make subaru fix this safety issue. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 96000 miles. Subaru Legacy 2006 Fuel/propulsion SystemSubaru Legacy 2006 Fuel/propulsion System Review #10668625 SUBARU LEGACY 2006 car safety problem was reported on Dec 16, 2014.SUBARU LEGACY 2006, manufactured by Subaru of America, Inc. had a problem with FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM . i was driving with my son (9) during the evening of 12/16/14 on side roads looking at christmas lights. i was going 15-20 mph. night was dry and clear. suddenly, the check engine light came on steady, cruise control light began flashing and i had absolutely no acceleration! i pulled over and put the car in "park". engine revved between 2000-3000 even though i was not pressing anything, just idling in p. turned car off for a min, back on, dash lights still on - ce & cc. still had no control over the gas pedal but when taken out of p, car got itself up to 15 mph somehow. we were very close to home so coasted home and into the driveway. when shifted to p at home, engine revved again. next morning i drove it to school, ce & cc light still on but car drove ok. when i drove it again, dash lights were off and it drove fine. same exact issue happened again on 12/23/14, again at a low speed on a side road, thankfully. error code on the car is p2138 - throttle position sensor. there is no warning before this happens, car is fine and then suddenly it is not. from what i see online, this has been a common occurance lately with this car. i am terrified that it will happen while i am in traffic or on the highway and cause a serious accident! please investigate this with subaru, i see that a lot of people have trouble getting it resolved and i don't have the time or money to pay for something that appears to be a common subaru defect. thank you for your time and attention to this serious issue!.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 36000 miles. Subaru Legacy 2006 Electrical SystemSubaru Legacy 2006 Electrical System Review #10668625 SUBARU LEGACY 2006 car safety problem was reported on Dec 16, 2014.SUBARU LEGACY 2006, manufactured by Subaru of America, Inc. had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . i was driving with my son (9) during the evening of 12/16/14 on side roads looking at christmas lights. i was going 15-20 mph. night was dry and clear. suddenly, the check engine light came on steady, cruise control light began flashing and i had absolutely no acceleration! i pulled over and put the car in "park". engine revved between 2000-3000 even though i was not pressing anything, just idling in p. turned car off for a min, back on, dash lights still on - ce & cc. still had no control over the gas pedal but when taken out of p, car got itself up to 15 mph somehow. we were very close to home so coasted home and into the driveway. when shifted to p at home, engine revved again. next morning i drove it to school, ce & cc light still on but car drove ok. when i drove it again, dash lights were off and it drove fine. same exact issue happened again on 12/23/14, again at a low speed on a side road, thankfully. error code on the car is p2138 - throttle position sensor. there is no warning before this happens, car is fine and then suddenly it is not. from what i see online, this has been a common occurance lately with this car. i am terrified that it will happen while i am in traffic or on the highway and cause a serious accident! please investigate this with subaru, i see that a lot of people have trouble getting it resolved and i don't have the time or money to pay for something that appears to be a common subaru defect. thank you for your time and attention to this serious issue!.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 36000 miles. Subaru Legacy 2006 Reports
I test drove a 2011 Subaru Outback yesterday at night in a very dark area with the headlights on. I could only see out of the bottom third of the windshield. The top two thirds of the windshield looked as if a black curtain had dropped down over i I notice if I quickly accelerate/go into overdrive - front of car will hum. Do I need to have something checked out? 2004 forester xt, strong gas smell in the cold weather when the heat is on. They won't fix it because they "can't find it" at my dealership. Do I need a new fuel line or is there an easier fix? Thank you for these, can find a decent review now. My 1998 subaru forester stutters/hiccups/bucks (whatever you call it) when going uphill, and when accelerating on a straight path, can it be the transmission? I HAVE A SUBARU FORESTER 2000 TAIL LIGHT/PLATE LIGHT/'FRONT SIGNAL LIGHT STAYS ON.ONCE FUSE IS REMOVED LIGHT GOES OUT.WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE? I own a 2008 Subaru impreza, till last week i was fine, but now it is having some problem i.e it is making whining sound from  steering pump, will i have to replace the steering pump and hoe much will it cost. Standard on all Impreza models are anti lock disc brakes, stability control, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints to help mitigate crash-induced whiplash 2006 Subaru outback died. Will not tke a boost. With battery cable connected there is an error code in the odometer. Does anybody know what this can be? 2007 Forester bangs into gear-been doing this mainly in cold weather but now all the time. Dealer always says not problem-it has to "warm up" and doesnt want ot deal with it. My 2002 Impreza Outback Sport's check engine light comes on when I'm going downhill, not all the time. Also (not all the time), if I don't downshift when coming to a stop, the car dies, not stalls, dies. It starts right back up. The engine l i just wrecked my 04 wrx front impact and no air bag and seat belt locked after the impact...how do i contact some one to have this investigated?
