Saturn Sl 2001 Communications Horn AssemblySaturn Sl 2001 Communications Horn Assembly Review #746638 SATURN SL 2001 car safety problem was reported on .SATURN SL 2001, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with COMMUNICATIONS:HORN ASSEMBLY . this is a design issue. we are prior year (1993, 1997 (2), and 1998) saturn owners. for the prior years, the cruise control was located on the inside of the steering column. the horn buttons were located on the lower portion of the steering wheel. this resulted in complaints from many owners because this was not the standard location for horns on gm or other models. in 1999 or 2000, saturn moved the horn to the typical location (center of steering wheel over the airbag). they replaced the horn buttons with the curise controls. 4-6 weeks after we purchased, the 2001 saturn, i was involved in an incident with a young lady having a 'road rage day'. during one frantic moment, i tried to locate the horn. of course it wasn't in the 'customary location'. i found it but not until after i had activated the cruise control. concentrating on the other driver's actions, i was unaware that 'cruise was engaged'. in the next moment, this driver slammed on her brakes (for which she was ticketed and fined). i tried to stop. however, when i took my foot off of the gas the car sped up. i hit her car when i should have been able to stop. i am extremely concerened that another driver (particularily owners of older model saturns who purchase new saturns) will experience the same situation but with more deadly consequences. i have spoken with saturn customer services and written them a note (without response). the customer service person said they would do eactly what i did. she owns and drive the prior year saturn. she said the location of the horn is automatic. i have spoken to two others who have done exactly the same thing. it took me 3-6 months to never engage the cruise in my search for the horn. that is probably because i have logged well over 200,000 miles in the older models. thanks.*ak.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):1G8ZJ52721Z. Saturn Sl 2001 Vehicle Speed Control LinkagesSaturn Sl 2001 Vehicle Speed Control Linkages Review #10055169 SATURN SL 2001 car safety problem was reported on Jan 28, 2004.SATURN SL 2001, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:LINKAGES . freezing accelerator on 2001 saturn sl1.oday i experienced a frozen accelerator cable which caused the car to accelerate very rapidly. i had driven about 80 miles and stopped at a store. when i came out of the store, i started the car and backed out of the parking slot. when i then started to go forward, and pressed the accelerator, it froze up at a rather high speed. releasing the pressure on the pedal did not cause the pedal to return to idle . the outside temperature was zero degrees. i was able to turn the key off and after working the accelerator pedal and cable for about three or four minutes (from under the hood and the driver seat-took two people) i was able to free up the cable. i would like to know if there is a recall or tech bulletin about this, and if not, suggest that one be issued immediately. it happened again a few hours later but i was prepared and tested it before i put the car in gear. the cable appears to be freezing inside the shaft. it does not necessarily do it the first time the acelerator is depressed in the cold weather. i brouhgt the car home and will not drive it again until the weather warms up. i did call saturn customer service and they are not aware of the problem and can not do anything unless a saturn dealer diagnoses the problem the nearest saturn dealer to me is 75 miles and since the weather is still minus 4 degrees today, i will not drive the car to the dealer do to the problem. i spoke with a local general motors dealer and he has had other saturns in with the problem. suggest an alert or warning to owners and drivers be issued.*ak.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 29750 miles. My wife was raising her 2007 Aura seat up and heard a loud pop. The left rear seat attachment point weld snapped. My 2001 SC2 has issues with shifting into Reverse and Drive when it is cold out. Also, now it feels like its going to stall when I break. What could be causing this? Is the transmission going? Is there any way to fix this? The car has 166K miles, shifting lever broke cant shift any more going down the road the car passlock come on the car will stop & will not start . you have to erased codes then it will start. After 1994 saturn sl2 gets to cruising temp. it starts stalling out at stops. Its like it has a dead spot upon take off. yes one more 98 SL2 that has had this button pop out while parked .  Does GM need to hear that one of these cars accidently rolled down a street and killed a kid to realize this issue is unacceptable? They need to make these by the thousands 2004 Saturn Vue AWD when vehicle is cold and I press on gas pedal it won't go over 10 mph for the first couple times I stop after that it runs fine. key will not turn in ignition At 85,000 miles my engine is knocking loud and ready to die and I just put in a new alternator for 2004 Saturn Vue. staurn sl2 automatic sutck in 3rd gear, when this happens, the radio dont work, the electric door locks dont work, and the rear defrost dont work, changed battery but no change When braking my Saturn 2003 Vue there is a thum-thump-thump sound that seems to be coming from the rear. I have had this checked out at the same GMC dealership three different times. The springs on the rear brakes were weak and replaced. The rear All the lamps in the cluster are flickering on and off And the turn signal lamps stay on when you put the key in and turn to first position. what could be the problem does anyone know ?Â
