A recall was issued on Jan 18, 1995 for RAM DODGE, manufactured by CHRYSLER CORPORATION, in response to SEAT BELTS:FRONT:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY problems. THE CINCH BAR COMPONENT WITHIN THE PASSENGER SIDE SAFETY BELT BUCKLE ASSEMBLY SHATTERS CAUSING THE BELT TO RELEASE.THE PASSENGER WOULD NOT BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED AND COULD BE INJURED IN THE EVENT OF A SUDDEN STOP OR ACCIDENT.. Follwoing is the summary of corrective actions taken: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CINCH BAR WITH A NEWLY DESIGNED PART.
