A recall was issued on Dec 27, 1973 for MONACO DODGE, manufactured by CHRYSLER CORPORATION, in response to SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS problems. . Follwoing is the summary of corrective actions taken:
POSSIBILITY THAT ROUTING AND CONFIGURATION OF REAR AXLE BRAKE HOSE ASSEMBLYDOES NOW ALLOW ADEQUATE HOSE TO LEFT TAIL PIPE CLEARANCE. CONDITION CAUSESEXCESSIVE HOSE SURFACE TEMPERATURES WHICH CAN PRODUCE HOSE DETERIORATION WITHTIME AND SUBSEQUENT LOSS OF REAR WHEEL BRAKING ABILITY. (CORRECT BY INSPECTINGAND INSTALLING REDESIGNED BRAKE HOSE AND TIE ASSEMBLIES.)
