A recall was issued on May 17, 2000 for LUMINA CHEVROLET, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP., in response to SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:DRUM problems. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH REAR DRUM BRAKES. THE BOLT HEAD(S) ON THE REAR SPINDLE ROD CAN SEPARATE.THE REAR WHEEL CAN SHIFT, CAUSING REAR STEERING OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER COULD LOSE CONTROL AND A CRASH COULD OCCUR.. Follwoing is the summary of corrective actions taken: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE REAR SPINDLE BOLTS.
OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JUNE 23, 2000.
