A recall was issued on Oct 16, 1989 for K100 CHEVROLET, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP., in response to SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS problems. THIS WOULD EVENTUALLY CAUSE FAILURE OF THE FRONTHYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM, INCREASE STOPPING DISTANCE WHICH COULD RESULT IN ANACCIDENT.. Follwoing is the summary of corrective actions taken: MODIFY FENDER SKIRT SPLASH SHIELD AND REPLACE BRAKE HOSE ON BOTH SIDES.
SYSTEM: FRONT BRAKE HOSES.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS.DESCRIPTION OF DEFECTS: THE FENDER SKIRT SPLASH SHIELDS MAY CONTACT THE FRONTBRAKE HOSES CAUSING WEAR ON THE HOSES.
