A recall was issued on July 01, 1992 for CAPRICE CHEVROLET, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP., in response to SEAT BELTS problems. THE SHOULDER BELT GUIDE LOOP PLASTIC COVERING MAY CRACK AND EXPOSE THE STEEL SUB-PLATE.IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE CRASH, THE EXPOSED STEELSUB-PLATE CAN CUT THE SAFETY BELT WEBBING RESULTING IN INCREASED POSSIBILITYAND/OR SEVERITY OF INJURY TO THE AFFECTED SEAT OCCUPANT.. Follwoing is the summary of corrective actions taken: INSTALL NEW SHOULDER BELT GUIDE LOOPS.
SYSTEM: ACTIVE SAFETY BELT.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER CARS; GENERAL MOTORS "B" SERIES.
