A recall was issued on May 10, 1983 for 626 MAZDA, manufactured by MAZDA (NORTH AMERICA),INC, in response to SEAT BELTS:FRONT:ANCHORAGE problems. ANCHORAGE BOLT MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY REINSTALLED AFTER VEHICLE REPAIR. THE BOLT COULD LOOSEN DURING NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION.. Follwoing is the summary of corrective actions taken: UPON INSPECTION, ALL IMPROPERLY INSTALLED BOLTS WILL BE REMOVED AND REINSTALLED CORRECTLY.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES THAT RECEIVED REPAIR REQUIRINGLOOSENING OR REMOVAL AND REINSTALLATION OF THE UPPER TORSO BELT ANCHORAGE BOLT.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT THE SEAT BELT COULD LOSERETAINING CAPABILITY IF THE BOLT IS LOOSE OR MISSING AND OCCUPANT INJURY COULDRESULT.
