Pontiac Trans Sport 1993 Seat Belts Front Retractor Review #739937 PONTIAC TRANS SPORT 1993 car safety problem was reported on July 01, 1999.PONTIAC TRANS SPORT 1993, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with SEAT BELTS:FRONT:RETRACTOR . third sudden failure of belt retractor within 18 months out of six original assemblies in vehicle. dealer contacted upon all 3 occurrences, quoted cost of replacement. dealer indicated that no service bulletins, special warranties, or recalls applied to this out-of-warranty vehicle. opted to purchase replacement assembly on first two occurrences, and replaced myself. upon third (most-recent) failure of yet another original retractor, decided to consult nhtsa web site. found no official open case, but many reports of same problem for this vehicle through the 1995 model year. contacted dealer and pontiac customer service, who apologized, but offered no assistance. discovered when obtaining price quote for part that the original part was discontinued in 1995, replaced with a new design and part number. find this logical, as the complaints to nhtsa drop dramatically during and since 1995. have had many vehicles new and used in my lifetime, and have never had a problem with safety belts in any other. i do not believe that any of my remaining original belts are trustworthy in a sudden stop or collision, based upon the sudden failures of the first three while simply pulling the belt out of the retractor to fasten it. spring in retractor fails, leaving all belt length unwound, and thus, the seating position unprotected until the retractor is replaced. i consider this a serious safety problem, but will be faced with a $700.00 expenditure if i decide to have the dealer replace the current failed belt and the remaining original three that i expect to fail soon. even though this vehicle was sold in limited quantity, i urge further investigation of this problem, which i suspect affects a large percentage of units still on the road. i plan to appeal again to pontiac in an attempt to get some monetary relief with replacing the currently-failed and remaining three original belts.*ak.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):1GMDU06LXPT. 1992 Pontiac Bonneville had Battery stolen& all cables cut. Have My 1992 Pontiac Bonneville had (the week before Xmas) the Battery stolen& the thieves cut all the cables to it. I have since re-installed the needed cable terminals & new Battery. When turning the key in the ignition, all light HELP.....my 2006 G6 sometimes it doesnt want to turn on if i hit the gas it"ll start but not without a problem I have a Pontiac Grand Prix, 2006 model. I recently hit a deer that was dead in the road. My car just quit. It turns over but won't start. It seems as if it isn't getting any gas. Someone told me it might have a safety feature that keeps the gas f my 2007 vibe drivers seat height will not stay in the highest position. After a day or two I have to crank it up again. Why won't it stay up? GM replaced the seat and it is doing the same thing... Anyone else have this frustrating issue? HOW IMPORTANT IS IT FOR 1985 GTV6 FIERO TO HAVE CRUISE CONTROL. DOES THIS AFFECT PRICE AND IMPORTANT FEATURE IN SELLING THIS VEHICLE? Started sputtering & check engine light flashed for a bit then went off. Still sputters but the warning light hasn't reappeared. ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTS WORK, EXCEPT FOR HEAD LIGHTS. ALSO, HORN DOES NOT WORK Check brake fluid level & all the brake lights. Especially the one in the back window. what would cause my 2006 g6 not to shift into overdrive I bought my '03 Vibe almost three years ago. When I purchased it from a private owner it was gorgeous but within the first six months of ownership a bubble developed in the clear coat of the paint on the back left next to the rear window. It qui my 2004 pontica vibe steering wheel vibrates or shakes when going 70 mph or above. It's not the tires or wheels, and suggestions? I think it may have to do with the brakes.

also when i hit the gas it makes a weird kinda grinding noise....anyone have any ideas?
