Pontiac Montana Electrical System Safety Report | Oct 22, 2011

Reported on Oct 22, 2011

PASSENGER SIDE ELECTRONIC DOOR IS NOT SHUTTING PROPERLY. DOOR WAS SHUT WITH CHILD SAFETY LOOKS IN PLACE HOWEVER, WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE DOOR JUST POPPED OPEN WITHOUT ANY WARNING. NO BELLS, NO MESSAGES, NOTHING...UNTIL THE DOOR WAS ALREADY HALF WAY OPEN. MY CHILDREN SIT IN THIS VEHICLE, AND THANK GOD FOR SAFETY BELTS OR SOMEONE COULD HAVE GOTTEN KILLED. NOW THE DOOR CLOSES WHEN IT WANTS AND THE SYSTEM WILL THINK IT IS LATCHED WHEN IT ISN'T, AND THE DOOR WILL OPEN WHILE DRIVING. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
