I PURCHASED MY PONTIAC GTO USED WITH APROX 17,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I WAS AWARE OF THE STRUT RUB ISSUE BEFORE PURCHASING AND NOTICED THE STOCK SETUP OF TIRES ON, AND BRAND NEW. AROUND 10,000 MILES LATER, I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR A ROTATION AFTER SOME VIBRATION AND NOTICED EXTREME WEAR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND WORSE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE THE STRUT HAD CUT CLEAN THROUGH THE BELTS ON THE INSIDE EDGE. IT WAS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT THE STRUT RUBBING CAUSED THIS ISSUE AS PER VISUAL INSPECTION OF SAID STRUT, YOU NOTICED THAT THE PAINT WAS WORN OFF, TIRE MARKS WERE CLEAR, AND THE BELTS HAD MARRED THE METAL OF THE STRUT. HAD I NOT BEEN PROACTIVE AND CHECKED THE TIRES PERIODICALLY THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO DOUBT THAT THE TIRE WOULD HAVE BLOWN OUT AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF THAT TO FOLLOW. *JB
