1998 GRAND PRIX WITH ABOUT 59000 MILES. POWER STEERING TO THE LEFT SEEMED TO BE CUTTING OUT PERIODICALLY ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE ALL POWER STEERING TO THE LEFT FAILED. VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN LEFT AT LOW SPEEDS. FINE TURNING TO THE RIGHT, BUT VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN LEFT, MUST USE A LOT OF MUSCLE. ALSO MAKES A GRINDING OR WHINING NOISE WHEN TURNED ALL THE WAY LEFT. STEERING FAILED ALL OF THE SUDDEN. NEARLY HAD AN ACCIDENT. LUCKILY GOING SLOW ENOUGH TO STOP WITHOUT GETTING HIT. VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER LEFT.*AK
