TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. WHILE PARKED AND UNOCCUPIED, THE VEHICLE IGNITED INTO FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND REMAINED AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V118000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) BUT DID NOT CONFIRM IF THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS VERY SIMILAR TO THAT DESCRIBED AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THE RECALL DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO PROVIDED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE.
