Reported on June 07, 2008

1999 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE AFTER BEING PARKED 5-15 MINUTES. CAR DAMAGE - WAS TOTALED. DISCOVERED ON THE INTERNET THAT MANY OTHERS SUFFERED SIMILAR DESTRUCTIVE NON-COLLISION FIRES AND THAT NHTSA # EA07008 HAS A RECALL # 08V118000, BUT... GM NEVER CONTACTED ME. INVESTIGATION CLOSED ONE MONTH PRIOR TO MY FIRE! IT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED. PERHAPS NHTSA SHOULD ENFORCE ITS ACTIONS. *TR
