Pontiac Grand Prix Electrical System Ignition Anti-theft Controller Safety Report | Mar 20, 2004

Reported on Mar 20, 2004

DRIVING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS THE CAR SHUTS DOWN TOTALLY. AT TIMES THE CAR HAS SHUT DOWN IN TRAFFIC, SHUT DOWN SOON AFTER STARTING, SHUT DOWN COMMING TO A STOP. THE RADIO POWER FLICKERS, AND THE FUEL PUMP WILL NOT PRIME DURING A RESTART. I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP, FUEL FILTER, FUEL PUMP RELAY, AND THE PROBLEM STILL PRESENT. I SUSPECT A PROBLEM WITH THE KEY IGNITION OR THE THEFT DETERRANT MODULE.*AK
