Pontiac Grand Am Service Brakes, Hydraulic Foundation Components Drum Safety Report | Aug 24, 1998
Reported on Aug 24, 1998
DEALER REPAIRED PROBLEM TWICE BEFORE 12,000 MILES W/O CHARGE. VEHICLE WAS RETURNED WITH SAME PROBLEM AT 23,000 MILES, AND THEY REPORTED THAT IT WAS A FAILURE TO ADJUST REAR BRAKES. THE PROBLEM HAS SINCE GOTTEN WORSE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THEM FOR THE SAME WARPED ROTOR PROBLEM AT 31,000 MILES, AND THEY NOW STATE THAT IT WAS ABUSE ON THE BRAKES THAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE FIRST TWO TIMES , THEY REPAIRED THEM PROMPTLY. NOW THEY SAY THAT IT NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. HOW COULD THE BRAKES HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM FOR THE THIRD TIME, AND NOW,FINALLY, NOT BE UNDER WARRANTY? *AK | |
