Pontiac Grand Am Fuel System, Other Fuel Injection System Safety Report | June 17, 2003
Reported on June 17, 2003
THIS 2000 GRAND AM WAS PURCHASED IN JAN OF 2003 AND AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE IN 5 MONTHS FOR FAULTY FUEL INJECTORS. THERE ARE SIX FUEL INJECTORS AND THE MECHANIC SAID THERE IS NO WAY OF KNOWING IF OR WHEN THE OTHERS MAY GO OUT. IT COST OVER $500 FOR EACH REPAIR. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A PROBLEM WITH THIS TYPE OF AUTOMOBILE. THE MECHANIC ALSO SAID THAT HE HAD JUST WORKED ON TWO OTHER GRAND AMS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. ONE WAS BROUGHT IN TWICE FOR FUEL INJECTORS AND ONE THREE TIMES. I READ ANOTHER COMPLAINT ON THIS WEB SITE ADDRESSING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME MAKE AND YEAR CAR.THERE SHOULD BE A FACTORY RECALL AS IT SEEMS THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM.*AK | |
