Pontiac Grand Am Electrical System Safety Report | Aug 26, 2006

Reported on Aug 26, 2006

PASSLOCK SYSTEM SHORTS OUT AND IGNITION DOES NOT START. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, EACH RESULTING IN TOW & REPAIR FEES. SOLUTION: IF YOU TURN THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION & WAIT 10 MINUTES, THE SECURITY LIGHT WILL GO SOLID AND THEM DISAPPEAR. THE CAR WILL THEN START. IT'S STILL A PAIN, BUT AT LEAST IT'S ONLY 10 MINUTES OF MY TIME. NO MORE TOWING. IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THIS CAR, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GIVING IT A TRY. *NM
