Pontiac G6 Steering Safety Report | Sept 01, 2012
Reported on Sept 01, 2012
WHEN MAKING A TURN, THE LEFT FRONT OF THE CAR CLUNKS. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TO A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT MECHANICS AS WELL AS DEALERSHIPS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I'M ALSO TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM NOT ONLY IN THE G6, BUT IN ALL GM VEHICLES. I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER ANY SORT OF RECALL AND THAT OVER TIME, THIS WILL BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE. I THINK THAT GM SHOULD ADMIT THAT THEY HAVE MADE A FAULTY PART AND DO THE RIGHT THING BY RECALLING THIS AND FIXING IT FREE OF CHARGE TO THE CUSTOMER. *TR | |
