Pontiac G6 Steering Safety Report | Oct 28, 2009
Reported on Oct 28, 2009
I OWN AND AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2006 PONTIAC G6 GTP. AT 49,500 MILES A SEVERE SHIMMY DEVELOPED AND STEERING BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY TIE RODS AND STEERING LINKAGE NEED TO BE REPLACED. HAD THIS PROBLEM NOT BEEN ADDRESSED I WOULD HAVE LOST THE ABILITY TO STEER THE VEHICLE. A CAR WITH SO FEW A MILES SHOULD NOT HAVE DEVELOPED SUCH A PROBLEM. *TR | |
