TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 PONTIAC G6. SHE STATED THAT THE RACK AND PINION FAILED AND WAS REPLACED FOUR TIMES OVER A 14 MONTH PERIOD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, SHE HEARD A POPPING NOISE WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE RACK AND PINION WAS REPLACED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE FAILURE PERSISTED ON THREE ADDITIONAL OCCASIONS.
