Pontiac Aztek Fuel System, Gasoline Storage Tank Assembly Safety Report | July 22, 2007

Reported on July 22, 2007

THE GAS FILLER INLET PIPE CONNECTS TO THE SIDE OF MY PONTIAC AZTEK FUEL TANK. THE TANK IS PLASTIC AND THE FLANGE ON THE SIDE OF THE TANK IS MOLDED TO THE TANK. I HAVE A CRACK ON THE UNDERSIDE AREA OF THE FLANGE. ALL BUT ABOUT 3 GALLONS OF GAS LEAKED OUT IN MY DRIVEWAY. I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE LOCAL PONTIAC DEALER IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS, HE SAID NO, BUT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. I WAS QUOTED $1000.00 TO REPLACE THE TANK. *TR
