PONTIAC AZTEK 2005 car safety problem was reported on Sept 20, 2007.PONTIAC AZTEK 2005, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY . i have two 2005 pontiac awd azteks . at aprox 30,000 miles each they started to vibrate .( september 2007 ) having just moved to the area i took the first one to fletches . when i was called to pick up the car i was charged $50.00 and told the "tires are unsafe ' it is a tire issue . when i purchased the car i also purchased an insurance policy from the discount tire company . i then went to discount tire to have them check the problem . they found nothing wrong with the tires , but since fletches put on my bill that the tires were unsafe they put new tires on the car for a prorated amount of $203.20 . on the way home i noticed that the car still vibrates . i went back to the dealer and asked for my money back .they gave me the $50.00 back but not the amount for the tires . about a week or so later the other car started to vibrate ( mid october) it has been in now 3 or 4 times nothing has been working for the fix . i then called pontiac .they agreed with the dealer that there is nothing more they can do because they don't know what is causing the vibration. i was told " don't take it back to fletches they will call me if they find out what to do" . i then told the pontiac rep " that i wanted my $203.20 back for the tires " he told me he would call fletches and call me back . i just got off the phone with the pontiac rep, he spoke to bob johnson ( service manager) at fletches and he told him "they will not give me my money back because i did not buy the tires from fletches ,if i had they would refund my money .that sounds to me like they were try to take advantage of me hoping that i would have bought the tires from them,not knowing that i had the insurance policy fletches misdiagnosed the problem at the start ,i bought tires that i did not need. i would like my cars fixed and a refund for the tires i purchased. *tr .Mileage was 30000 miles. PONTIAC AZTEK 2005 car safety problem was reported on Oct 20, 2012.PONTIAC AZTEK 2005, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM . i purchased this car used. when i first purchased it, i smelled an strong odor of gas/fuel. when i researched the car on the internet, the search revealed there was a recall on the fuel system of the 2005 pontiac aztek. after reading more in detail about the recall, the search found that the fuel pressure regulator were produced without an o'ring and retainer, which caused the fuel to leak. i took my car to the dealership to be checked. they found that fuel was leaking and the fuel pressure regulator had to be replaced and the throttle body was choking. i contacted gm and i was told that because my vin number did not read from an area that had recalls, i would not be helped in this situation. i responded that my car had the same issues as other cars. they also stated that they could not find any recalls on the 2005 pontiac aztek, but i have found complaints on the nhtsa web site, as well as on the internet regarding this issue. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 153355 miles. PONTIAC AZTEK 2005 car safety problem was reported on Apr 11, 2013.PONTIAC AZTEK 2005, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with EXTERIOR LIGHTING . i was leaving school and i started to smell gas, so i stopped and checked to see if there was any leaking and there wasn't. a week had went by and i didn't smell the gas anymore but my radio and dash lights had quit working. so i had the fuses changed and the speedometer started working again but not the radio. several months later my temp gauge started shooting all the way up to hot right after it was cranked. so i had it checked and my vehicle wasn't running hot. the one night i was driving home from town and my car shut off and a temp light was blinking. i popped the hood and my hoses from the radiator to the motor had busted from all the pressure built up. the next day i brought my car to a shop and had a new motor put in. and low and be-hold my transmission starts shifting really hard when i go to start off. i had it looked at but they couldn't find anything with it. but since ive been keeping the transmission fluid checked weekly it hasn't been doing it as much. but it still scares the crap out of me. *js.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 232000 miles.
