Oldsmobile Silhouette 2000 Structure Body DoorOldsmobile Silhouette 2000 Structure Body Door Review #722373 OLDSMOBILE SILHOUETTE 2000 car safety problem was reported on Mar 27, 2000.OLDSMOBILE SILHOUETTE 2000, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR . my 4 year old son was standing inside the van, facing the powered door, waiting for me to open the door. i pulled the handle and the power door started to open (sliding to my left). when the door reached the midway point my son slipped from the edge and fell with both feet between the door and the door frame. the door continued to travel toward my left, my hand was still on the door handle. i pulled the handle with much force, enough to cause the entire van to jerk forward (i am a 37 year old man). the door would not stop moving. i quickly pulled my son out at the last second. he hugged me and i could see the fear in his eyes. with my son removed i repeated the action and found that at least 50% of the time the door would not stop travel when i pulled on the handle. i reported this defect in engineering to oldsmobile, report # 000014933. i also notified almo corporate headquarters. it is good, for everyone involved, that my son was not hurt. please look into this matter. i don't want someone to be injured because not enough safety devices are installed in these doors. note, when the door has traveled half-way your left are is extended about 45 degrees away from the center of your body. this prevents the door handle from pulling straight out. p.s. i haven't received a reply from almo or oldsmobile. please call me if more information is needed. thank you. *ak.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):1GHDX03E1YD. Oldsmobile Silhouette 2000 Electrical System Wiring Front UnderhoodOldsmobile Silhouette 2000 Electrical System Wiring Front Underhood Review #728740 OLDSMOBILE SILHOUETTE 2000 car safety problem was reported on Aug 19, 2000.OLDSMOBILE SILHOUETTE 2000, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:FRONT UNDERHOOD . my mini-van is idling at 2700rpms and the check engine light is lit. this happened at 4000miles and the dealer replaced the tps (throttle position sensor) the first time. the second incident occured at 10,400 miles with the car idleing at 2700 rpms. this time the dealer called the manufacturer. the dealer tech told me that a tech at the manufacturer said the possible cause of the tps is electromagnetic waves emenating from the wiring harness is causing the tps to foul sending it into the high rpm revs. the tech also said that the manufacturer would denie this if asked. the dealer tech siad to remedy the problem for now, he would wrap tape around the harness to keep the waves down to a minimum. i find this very hard to believe that tape will fix the problem, unless their going to wrap the harness in copper wiring. the only other thing the dealer has done was to clear the error codes of the on board computer to reset the tps. i believe this to be a serious issue that need attention..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):1GHDX03E3YD. Why do my interior lights only keep flickering as I drive and when car is just sitting. If you just touch the car or push the car the interior lights come on. At night it is a nightmare, help please My van is a 03 Oldsmobile Silhouette the gear selector on hte dash isn't showing up, and i dont know how to fix it!!! new ac unit. cold airt on passenger side, hot air on driver side hy...while driving my oldsmobile has a wobbling noise in front stonng fuel odor outside 03 olds bravada no leaks to be seen 2001 Bravada-getting puddle of water on driver side floor. Any suggestions? quit runnig going down the road 60 mph Mass Air Flow sensor fixed my similar problem I was in an auto accident in my 1996 cutlass supreme on October 19, 2012. It was a front end impact at over 35mph and the airbags did not deploy, I did have my seat belt on but sustained a confirmed C4 disc injury and possibly both shoulders hav i have 3 windows that have dropped and parts are not available anymore so i am told. when i did find a part it was about $450.00. Why would the parts not be available as the car is barely 11 yrs old. :POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS . I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THREE WINDOW REGULATORS ON MY 2001 OLDSMOBILE AURORA.
