Nissan Maxima 2007 Electrical System

Nissan Maxima 2007 Electrical System Review #10178839

NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Jan 09, 2007.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . i purchased a new 2007 nissan quest and had the remote start option installed, which was an audiovox as-9076 when inspecting the vehicle, i found that with the remote start package installed, it was possible to use the lock/unlock buttons on the doors to start the vehicle without the key. my concern here is that my wife comes home and gets out of the car to get my son out of the back and my one year old son could lock and start the car without the keys, if my wife left her purse on the front seat while she got him, the only thing she could do would be to call the police, as i doubt she would be able to break the window. the most dangerous scenario i can think of would be in the middle of the hottest day of the summer or something which could result in serious injury to a child, or a heart attack to his mother. i have had the remote start system disabled and we have another appointment with the dealer to "correct" the problem, they tried once and said they could not correct it, so i left it disabled until either removed or corrected, but if someone else had the same option installed and did not know about the buttons, i believe that it could be just a matter of time before a horrible accident happens to an innocent child, which i would hope can be avoided. i have already contacted nissan, the dealership, and audiovox with my concerns as well, but no one seems to believe this danger exists, or merits any serious attention. perhaps i'm wrong, but the potential consequences if i am right, are worth my time in trying to let someone know. thank you. *nm .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Nissan Maxima 2007 problem was reported in BRISTOL, PA. Nissan Maxima 2007 Fuel System, Gasoline Storage Tank Assembly Filler Pipe And Cap Review #10202471

NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Aug 16, 2007.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP . we owned the car for less than one month and the service engine light comes on. took it to the dealer and was informed that it was because the gas cap wasn't fully closed and we would be charged $100 to turn off the service light. not only that but we were chastised because we didn't notice the warning on the gas cap that this would happen. this is unacceptable because not fully closing or leaving the gas cap off is a common mistake that any vehicle owner makes at least once. at least the service light should go off once you tighten the gas cap. we shouldn't have to go to the dealer and pay to have the light turned off. this is a safety issue because we won't go to the dealer for this type of "fix" again. what if there is a more serious problem and we are riding around with the service light on, thinking it is just the gas cap? *jb updated 01-16-08. *kb .Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):1N4BA41E37C. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Sept 26, 2007.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING . my new 2007 nissan maxima was "bucking" at 40 mph & 60 mph. the service engine soon came on. later that day, the vehicle stalled out on me 3 times. the next day i was able to drive the vehicle to the dealership. they indicated that it was the cam shaft. the next day i was able to pick up my vehicle. however, i couldn't get it out of the dealership parking lot after stalling 3 times each time i put it into drive. the mechanic was authorized to take my vehicle over night to drive it after being able to test drive it. i was informed the next day that the mechanic couldn't get it out of the dealership parking lot either. they have been in touch with the manufacturer, but they can't seem to locate any error. *jb.Mileage was 2624 miles. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Sept 19, 2007.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM . on wednesday september 19, 2007 i took my car to the dealership because the check engine light was on. as the service advisor checked me in i made him aware that my service engine light was on and my car was periodically stalling. instead of thoroughly checking my car out, being that i explained that it wasn't running right, the advisor said there were a few transmission codes but they just reset the computer. i continue to drive my car and it still periodically stalled but on friday september 28, 2007 my car began stalling and jerking so i took it back to the dealership. the technician ran a diagnostic test and the same codes from the prior weeks visit came up. they said they would need to keep my car for extensive work. however, they could not start this process until wednesday october 3, 2007, i explained to the advisor that i drove 80 miles a day to my job and would need a loaner vehicle. he said they would not provide me with a loaner vehicle because i did not purchase my car directly through them. the advisor then said the earliest they could get my car in on monday october 1, 2007. i stressed to the advisor that it was still three days away and i had to drive the car 80 miles a day. he just told me not to drive the car too much. the following monday october 1, 2007 as i left my home i could not even make it up the street in my subdivision, my car cut off, i made several attempts to start it again because i had a school bus blocked. i finally got it to the dealership. needless to say my transmission was bad; they kept my car four days. my car has been in and out of the shop since then and it still is not right. one visit they said that i had a problem with my exhaust system so they kept it two more days. the dealership would not call in a special technician in to found out what was wrong with my car so i contacted consumer affairs. as i stated i drive 80 miles everyday and i do not feel safe driving my car. *tr .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 9801 miles. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on June 04, 2009.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC. . i have had several problems with this car...this being the latest. since buying this vehicle brand new i have had to have the entire dashboard replaced because it warped, the radio replaced, the chrome rails on top of the car replaced and now i took my vehicle in for service because i was hearing a "chirping" noise. i then got a call back and was told that the compressor had gone bad. but it gets better as right after that i was told that nissan got a bad batch of compressors and they can't get a new one for me. but it still gets better...i was then told that if i don't replace the compressor (at a cost of over 1k) then it will fail and damage the belts, which will cause the power steering to fail as well as damaging the condenser. so i need a part that nissan says is defective so they don't have anymore of them and are waiting on a new supplier, but in addition to that if i don't get this part it will cause additional damage to the car. *tr.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):1N4BA41E57C. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on June 18, 2009.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING . i'm having a high pitch whine coming especially from the passenger side. the pitch gets louder with rpm changes. it's constantly there, as soon as the car is on, whether the car is idling, accelerating or decelerating. this whine comes from the speakers, because when i disconnected the oem bose amplifier, the noise was gone. i believe this is known as the "alternator whine" so i changed a new alternator told by the dealer, and changed to another oem bose amplifier, but the "whine" still remains. the high pitch noise is very annoying and causes migraines. *tr.Nissan Maxima 2007 problem was reported in ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Sept 09, 2010.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . i experienced a complete brake failure resulting from failure of the master brake cylinder on my 2007 nissan maxima with only 48,000 miles. fortunately, the failure occurred while backing out of the service bay at kal tire located in ladner bc, canada. it was necessary to employ the parking brake to stop the vehicle. because i reside in point roberts wa, i could not take the risk of driving 45 miles to the nearest nissan dealer located in bellingham wa. ladner is only 5 or 6 miles from point roberts wa. had i ran the maxima down i-5 down to bellingham wa, this complete brake failure would have been lethal when driving at stated expressway speed limits of 70 mph. the failure of a master brake valve at 48,000 miles is unprecedented in my 50 years of driving experience. i have requested the valve be held for analysis and i will be happy to mail it to you for your perusal should you wish to diagnose it. this valve not covered under the 36,000 mile warranty, per the nissan dealer located in bellingham wa. i conclude this communication by expressing my concerns regarding the relative safety of this master brake cylinder. it is not unreasonable to state lives are at stake in this matter. *tr.Mileage was 47900 miles. Nissan Maxima 2007 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Review #10382913

NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Feb 14, 2004.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . 2007 nissan maxima abs activates with normal braking. there was a service bulletin ntb07-016b for this problem which is clearly a design defect from nissan. as i was driving and catching speed i noticed my car slipped into a lower gear i would hear abs engaging and if i stepped on the brake pedal abs would be activated. took it to the dealer even though i have no warranty they told me it would cost me $1,200 to replace the bearings and the sensors as they were corroded due to water and dirt trapped where the sensors rest. the service bulletin clearly states that a piece has to be grinded off on knuckle in order to allow proper drainage of water and dirt. this is a safety concern and a very expensive repair to be done coming out of consumers pockets due to the obvious design defect from nissan. they should be held responsible for this ongoing defect and a recall should be mandated to correct this potential hazard while driving. *tr.Mileage was 56000 miles. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Feb 23, 2011.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . i first took my 07 maxima in to the dealership oct 2010 because the car lost engine power when it was cold outside. they had it for about a week and finally decided the car needed a rear wheel sensor and a larger hole ground in the rear "knuckle" to let moisture and salt out. this cost me $807 and they assured me this was not a common problem and the car was fixed. it is now feb 2011 and the car is back in the shop. the diagnosis is 2 more wheel sensors need replaced and now it also needs a abs actuator. total bill $2500. when this problem is occurring the car loses power which is probably not a bad idea cause the brake pedal goes down to the floor while growling and acting like it is sliding on ice. nissan knows there is a problem with these cars as i know they issued a service bulletin to grind some openings in the plastic cover to let moisture out. they will not issue a recall though. i have seen many of these complaints for 2006 maximas. *tr.Vehicle was involved in a crash. Nissan Maxima 2007 Latches/locks/linkages

Nissan Maxima 2007 Latches/locks/linkages Review #10384637

NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Feb 26, 2011.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES . new hampshire my 2007 nissan maxima drivers side door lock will not lock or unlock unless done manually, there are major safety concerns with this ongoing problem, to name a few:1. having a secure environment is paramount in certain neighborhoods. when locking the doors it's imperative nobody can gain access at will by walking up to the car. if anyone can simply open the door to gain access, carjacking, injury, or even murder is easier. if the doors locked properly this provides a more secure environment for this type of scenario. 2. nissan knowing there is a security problem with their locking mechanism and not recalling them for safety concern is negligent. it's an open door to a lawsuit if someone were to be murdered due to a door that didn't lock, although the driver pushed the lock button and heard the locking noise. remember, in this case there's no obvious indication the door isn't locked unless someone walks up and opens it from the outside. the drive "thinks" the door is locked, when in reality it's an "open door" for carjacking or robbery. 3. in emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar. and the murano's design is such that it's not easy to comprehend if it's not your car, for instance a rental car. i can easily understand how some people would be confused how unlock a door using the manual level in an emergency when they virtually have no experience with it. in emergencies every second counts. the locking/unlocking solenoid malfunctioning is clearly a high risk in emergency scenarios. some people who cannot afford the $1600 to have all the solenoids replaced (as quoted by dealers) will forgo getting them fixed, putting their family members at risk with the above mishap examples. this shouldn't be, nissan should recall them. *tr .Nissan Maxima 2007 problem was reported in ROCHESTER, NH. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Mar 14, 2011.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . we bought a new 2007 maxima in 5/07. at 26,425 miles (almost 2 years old), the front rotors needed replaced because they were warped and thin. now, another 25,804 miles (and almost 2 years after the first replacement) the same problem has occurred. they tried to blame it on hard braking and/or driving steep hills regularly; which is not accurate. rotors should not fail with low miles. we have a 20 year old car that we replaced the rotors once. i searched the web for similar complaints and found allworldauto.com. on their web site, there were numerous complaints about the maxima rotors. i believe that this problem is under reported by consumers and the company. the company should not be getting away with this. *tr.Mileage was 26425 miles. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Mar 22, 2011.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . after leaving home & driving 1 mile the car would not accelerate to highway speed and had difficulty going over 30 mph. at just over 40 mph the engine was running at over 4,500 rpm. not wanting to risk driving the car on the highway to the nearest nissan dealer (20+ mi.), i made an appointment with a shop closer to home. when i drove to the shop it was difficult to maintain any speed over 40 mph and the car slowed to under 25 mph going up an incline. half way to the shop, approx. 4 miles, several warning lights lit up on the dash. at the shop the mechanic said that the abs brake system was showing a problem with the right rear sensor, after talking to the nissan dealer where i bought the car it was decided that the right rear abs sensor should be replaced. that was done but it did not solve the problem. more phone calls were made and the consensus was that the abs actuator (control unit) needed to be replaced. the nissan dealer indicated that abs brake system problems are common with this vehicle. a failure of such a critical part in the abs brake system would be very dangerous at highway speeds.. this was an expensive repair and the abs system control unit is something that should last the life of the vehicle. with a vehicle with just over 50,000 miles, it seems like there is a design or manufacturing problem here..Mileage was 52800 miles. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Dec 31, 2011.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with POWER TRAIN . while driving onto the highway from an off ramp, the power in my car failed. the rpm's were very high, but there was no power. after pressing and releasing the gas several times, the power picked up and the car drove normally. on january 3, while trying to drive 30 mph to work, the car felt as if it was shifting between gears on its own. no matter how i was pressing on the gas pedal, the car sped up and slowed down on it's own. it was very scary having the car speed up on it's own. i took the car to a mechanic and i was told that i need an entirely new transmission. the car had less than 15 miles on it when i bought it in 2007, needing a new transmission is unacceptable and having the car speed be out of control is an undoubted safety hazard. *tr.Mileage was 75150 miles. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on May 14, 2013.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by Nissan North America, Inc. had a problem with TIRES . i own a 2007 nissan maxima. coming home from a trip that lasted approximately 60 miles, i turned onto my street after about another mile i went over a bump, and it sounded like i had scrapped the bottom of the vehicle. i continued on. within the next 500 feet or so the car began to pull extremely hard to the right. knowing what a tire failure feels like, i immediately pulled over and got out. to my amazement my right rear tire had lost all air within seconds. if i had been traveling on the highway like i previously stated i would have spun out. after changing the tire i examined the flat and observed that the tire had two pieces of tread "torn" out of the tire in two separate locations. the first would be at approximately 2 o'clock and the second at 9 o'clock. not directly parallel to each other. the tire had not been worn on the inside where the tread failed, so i deemed it not to be a chassis problem with the car. i have photos of the tire and still have it at this moment. *tr.Mileage was 124856 miles. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Apr 12, 2014.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by Nissan North America, Inc. had a problem with STRUCTURE:BODY . i took my nissan in for a routine oil change at pep boys and was immediately notified of rust on the floor boards on both sides of the car. it was brought to my attention that the driver side is becoming a safety issue and can fail at any time due to the severity of the problem. i notified my local nissan dealership and was given a quote for the repairs. i forwarded said quote to consumer affairs at nissan of north america and was later notified that the manufacture declined any solution to my problem. it has come to my attention that many cars of the same make and model have the same exact issue. it has been reported before both with the nhtsa as well as the bbb. if it is a prevalent problem the manufacturer should take responsibility for the defect and try to repair all issues before people are hurt. the repairs are extensive, labor consuming and expensive. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 77000 miles. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Oct 24, 2014.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by Nissan North America, Inc. had a problem with ENGINE . this friday october 24th i was driving back home in my 2007 maxima se (vin: 1n4ba41e07c844349) when suddenly my car stalled while driving with no control over the steering wheel. luckily i was at the entrance of my subdivision minute after taking exit from a 50 mph state route. my car ran over the curb barely missing a rare collision with a suv whose driver had no clue what's going on with my car. i can't even imagine what could have happened if the car stalled on 50 mph state route during the rush hour. the problem turned out to be a faulty cam shaft sensor that i've ordered and will be arriving in a day or two. regardless of the faulty part i believe the car behavior is unacceptable as a result of that. i did spent time researching about this problem online and it looks i'm not the only one as there are many nissan owners with this problem and have their own horror stories to tell. i guess i'm extremely lucky that i'm writing this email in person vs. someone else doing it for me. it's extremely hard for me to believe that the car would stall due to a faulty issue and i'm sure nissan is aware of this problem but there is still no recall. i urge nissan to consider this issue seriously and make remedy available as soon as possible before its too late..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 84500 miles. NISSAN MAXIMA 2007 car safety problem was reported on Aug 09, 2014.NISSAN MAXIMA 2007, manufactured by Nissan North America, Inc. had a problem with UNKNOWN OR OTHER . i was driving my car on an average day.as i made a right turn, ahead of oncoming traffic, i tried to accelerate and my car would not accelerate above 20-30mph.with traffic swiftly approaching at speeds near 40-50mph, luckily, i was able to pull into a nearby gas station.none of my check engine/warning lights were on.i turned the car off and started it back up but the issue remained.when i tried to accelerate the car wouldnt o over 30mph and was making a heaving vibration noise every time i stopped. i was able to get the car to a nissan dealership who ultimately recommended the repairs outlined in the service bulletin. my warranty company denied the claim "citing water damage", but the bulletin lists the pfp (primary failed part) as the "housing assy- rear axle,rh" (which should have been covered). i bought the vehicle used (from a nissan dealer) and becasue the manufacturers warranty had expired i was forced to pay for the repairs ($1,000+) on a vehicle that i barley had for 1 year. i contacted nissan consumer affairs (as recomended by the dealership) to try and get some type of assistance with this issue. they basically told me its not their problem since the nissan warranty had expired on the vehicle. nissan is very well aware of this defect that is a severe safety concern due to the obvious design. i luckily had time and space to move my vehicle safely off the road; the next person may not be as lucky. nissan should and needs to be held responsible for the overall safety of their all vehicles and this ongoing defect. a recall should be mandated to correct this potential hazard while driving. a life is far more valuable than recall expenses. http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/baddad1/2009-12-06_140419_ntb07-016b.pdf -a direct link to the official nissan service bulletin that was issued to correct the potentially life threatening defect i had to deal with..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 780000 miles.
