Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2002 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Foundation Components Hoses, Lines/piping, And FittingsMITSUBISHI MONTERO SPORT 2002 car safety problem was reported on Feb 28, 2003.MITSUBISHI MONTERO SPORT 2002, manufactured by MITSUBISHI MOTORS NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS . the front brake lines failed upon frontal impact. i am a police officer/accident investigator and i investigated an accident involving a 2002 mitsubishi montero sport. the driver of the montero impacted the rear of a vehicle ahead of her. the impact damaged the left front of the montero enough to deploy the air bags, but not enough to prevent the wheel from rolling. the impact also caused the left front brake line to break. the line broke at the point where the flexible rubber part of the line connects to the metal fitting that is attached to the inner fender well. after the impact, the brakes would not allow the driver to bring the vehicle to a stop and the vehicle then went out of control and impacted a utility pole. the second impact was on the right front of the montero and in a similar manner the right front brake line broke. i am still investigating, but it appears the brake lines would not have been damaged if the attachment point of the brake line was on the vehicle frame and not on the inner fender well. it seems when the fender well was bent in the collision that is what put stress on the rubber line and caused it to tear away leaving the vehicle without braking and preventing the driver from bringing it safely to rest.*jb.Vehicle was involved in a crash. 2 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):JA4LS21H02J. 1998 3000gt sl, automatic transmission periodically loses power when shifting into passing at 50 to 60 miles per hour. Had transmission rebuilt but the problem is still happening. Any ideas to the cause? 1998 mitsubishi galant seems to be having anti-theft problems. My guess, what the car is doing, is starting up, being able to drive it, but it kind of feels funny, I get to where I'm going, and turn off the car, when I come back, it won't start. I My son has a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer LS with about 120, 000 miles on it. The blend door is stck and i need to find the blend door kit for it. Does a nybody know where i might get it! 2003 Mitsubishi Montero sport, gets cold horn goes off and finally breaks and seems to be on most of the time now. Mitsubishi won't recall to fix their garbage and want to charge you 1K to fix, but that just makes me a 1 time customer. Mitsubi No recall for the knob. There is a recall on the gearing for the air blend door on the airbox under the dash right above the gas pedal. it has improved geometry so you dont have to exert as much force on the knob for the air blend door to move. a mine is broke too. cant change it to defrost mode. just blows out cold air in my face Temp. control knob is broke. the knob to choose from feet defog, etc only turns a little bit. its all jacked up. 2003 lancer i have a 99 mits eclipse GS '99 model and i pushed a latch on the inside of the passenger door and now it wont go back so now the door wont close.. anyone have any ideas how to release it so that my will close thanks much appreciated... Whats the problem with the endeavor windshield it keeps cracking this is my third time replacing it in my 2004 2002 Galant. Won't take fuel through the fuel neck at a normal pace. Keeps backing up. Has all emmision and EVAP checked and all are functioning. I replaced fuel filler neck and made sure all vent hoses were clear. What else could it be? Has anyone had problems with their check engine lights?
