CO INTO ENGINE/PASSENGER COMPARTMENT CAUSES FIRE/CO POISONING TO DRIVER/PASSENGER. COMPLAINT: QUESTION ARE THEY ONLY REQUIRED TO REPAIR ONCE WITH SAME DEFECTIVE PARTS? NOTIFIED BY MITSUBISHI CORP. RECALL ON EXHAUST MANIFOLD ON ABOVE VEHICLE. RECALL STATED DUE TO PROBLEMS IN MANUFACTURING/CASTING OF MATERIALS OF EXHAUST MANIFOLD, CRACKS DEVELOP IN MANIFOLD WHICH RELEASE CO INTO ENGINE/PASSENGER COMPARTMENTS. CRACK IS EMITTING CO BECAUSE A RESIDUE DEVELOPED BY EXHAUST ESCAPING CRACK.(BLACK CARBON). I CALLED DEALER SPOKANE, WA; APPLEWAY MITSUBISHI. ASKED ABOUT REPAIRS FOR MANIFOLD, CONTACT MITSUBISHI CORP. 1-800-222-0037. I CALLED AND TALKED TO 2 PEOPLE ABOUT EXHAUST MANIFOLD. 1ST SAID, NO RECALL FOR MANIFOLD, 1 ISSUED FOR SAFETY HARNESS.I ASKED TO TOW VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. HE COULD NOT ANSWER QUESTION. TRANSFER TO 2ND. 2ND SAID, EXHAUST MANIFOLD WAS REPAIRED ONCE, WILL NOT REPAIR IT AGAIN,NO LONGER PART OF SAFETY CAMPAIGN AND VEHICLE TOO OLD. VEHICLE IS OLDER, BUT FAR FROM EFFECTS OF AGE, I STATED TO EMPLOYEE. HE STATED NO LONGER REPAIR EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. I ASKED TOWING VEHICLE FOR SEATBELT RECALL. 2ND PERSON ACTUALLY LAUGHED AT REQUEST, AFTER SHORT TIME AWAY FROM PHONE, SAID" NO WE WILL NOT TOW VEHICLE, NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. STATE WA. THIS ENGINE (1983-1986 - 1997CU.IN./2.0L SOHC L4 G63B) PRODUCED BY MITSUBISHI CORPORATION WAS FITTED WITH EXHAUST MANIFOLDS CREATED WITH INFERIOR MATERIALS. THESE MATERIALS WERE USED TO CREATE THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS FOR THESE MOTORS UNDER NORMAL USE, DEVELOP CRACKS. THE CRACKS WOULD EMIT HIGH TEMPERATURE ¹CARBON MONOXIDE (CO) EXHAUST FUMES INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, AND THE DRIVER & PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE RECALL FOR REPLACEMENT OF THESE DEFECTIVE LIFE THREATENING PARTS WERE REPLACED BY THE MITSUBISHI CORPORATION WITH THE EXACT SAME INFERIOR MATERIAL DESIGN PARTS AND DEVELOPED THE SAME ISSUES AS THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. THESE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WERE PLACED ON RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE OF CO INHALATION AND FIRE DANGER TO THE PASSENGERS, BUT WERE REMOVED FROM THE GOVERNMENT RECALL LIST FOR UNKNOWN REASONS. BE IT A STATUE OF LIMITATIONS OR FULFILLMENT, THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN SOLVED CORRECTLY AND REOCCURS QUICKLY. I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT MITSUBISHI CORPORATION ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THOUGH I UNDERSTAND THE VEHICLE IS NOT NEW, THEY CONSIDERED IT A JOKE THAT I HAVE ASKED FOR THE REPAIR OF THIS ITEM THAT THEY WERE REQUIRED TO REPLACE IN THE PAST FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THESE VEHICLES STILL HAVE ANOTHER RECALL FOR SEATBELTS THAT ARE LISTED, BUT THE MANIFOLDS HAVE BEEN MYSTERIOUSLY REMOVED FROM THE LIST. ITEMS THAT ARE REPLACED BECAUSE OF DANGEROUS CONDITIONS TO OCCUPANTS IN A VEHICLE, THEN REPLACED WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE MATERIAL DESIGN NEEDS MORE INVESTIGATION BY GOVERNMENT RECALL INVESTIGATORS OF AUTOMOBILES. THE MITSUBISHI CORPORATION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR NEGLIGENCE AND INSTALLATION OF DEFECTIVE AUTOMOBILE PARTS THAT ARE DANGEROUS TO ALL PASSENGERS RIDING IN THESE VEHICLES WITH THE PARTICULAR ENGINES INSTALLED. ¹ CARBON MONOXIDE IS COLORLESS, ODORLESS, TASTELESS GAS THAT IS SLIGHTLY LIGHTER THAN AIR. 1998 3000gt sl, automatic transmission periodically loses power when shifting into passing at 50 to 60 miles per hour. Had transmission rebuilt but the problem is still happening. Any ideas to the cause? 1998 mitsubishi galant seems to be having anti-theft problems. My guess, what the car is doing, is starting up, being able to drive it, but it kind of feels funny, I get to where I'm going, and turn off the car, when I come back, it won't start. I My son has a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer LS with about 120, 000 miles on it. The blend door is stck and i need to find the blend door kit for it. Does a nybody know where i might get it! 2003 Mitsubishi Montero sport, gets cold horn goes off and finally breaks and seems to be on most of the time now. Mitsubishi won't recall to fix their garbage and want to charge you 1K to fix, but that just makes me a 1 time customer. Mitsubi No recall for the knob. There is a recall on the gearing for the air blend door on the airbox under the dash right above the gas pedal. it has improved geometry so you dont have to exert as much force on the knob for the air blend door to move. a mine is broke too. cant change it to defrost mode. just blows out cold air in my face Temp. control knob is broke. the knob to choose from feet defog, etc only turns a little bit. its all jacked up. 2003 lancer i have a 99 mits eclipse GS '99 model and i pushed a latch on the inside of the passenger door and now it wont go back so now the door wont close.. anyone have any ideas how to release it so that my will close thanks much appreciated... Whats the problem with the endeavor windshield it keeps cracking this is my third time replacing it in my 2004 2002 Galant. Won't take fuel through the fuel neck at a normal pace. Keeps backing up. Has all emmision and EVAP checked and all are functioning. I replaced fuel filler neck and made sure all vent hoses were clear. What else could it be? Has anyone had problems with their check engine lights? I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Oulander the serive light will not go out, the diagnostics state a evap leak yet despite all testing there is no leak detected.
