Mitsubishi 3000gt 1996 Power Train Manual TransmissionMitsubishi 3000gt 1996 Power Train Manual Transmission Review #10010290 MITSUBISHI 3000GT 1996 car safety problem was reported on Aug 26, 2002.MITSUBISHI 3000GT 1996, manufactured by MITSUBISHI MOTORS NORTH AMERICA, INC. had a problem with POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION . i own a 1996 mitsubishi 3000gt vr-4 with a 6 speed manual transmission. my friend, brian watson and i were traveling eastbound on highway 20, just about 50 miles east of bend, or. i made an attempt to shift from 5th to 6th gear, but because of some problems with what i now understand to be the sycros, it went into 4th gear. not noticing it was in 4th gear because i had shifted it into the position of 6th, i let out the clutch and pressed the accelerator. shortly after, i heard this pop. i looked down and noticed the rpm's were past the red line, this is when i figured out that the car was in 4th gear. i shifted it back into 5th gear and began to slow down, concerned about the pop sound i had heard. i asked brian, if he had heard it and he told me no. i asked him if he was sure he didn't hear it, he told me no, so i kept driving. shortly after, i started hearing clanking sounds coming from what sounded like the transmission. the engine stopped, the vehicle started slowing down rapidly. i immediately pulled over off the pavement onto the gravel on the side of the road. i noticed smoke coming from under the hood of the car. i'm worried that my car is about to catch on fire. i began pouring the water onto the transmission, which was boiling the water at this point, but it seemed to be enough to stop the engine area from smoking. later i found out that the transaxle was bad and that it costs $4414.29 new, plus $696.00 for labor. i asked if they could get the transaxle replaced considering the drive train has a 60,000-mile warranty on it and my mileage is only 66,000-miles. the local dealership said no and so did the person that made the decision after i called mitsubishi. so i am writing in hopes that you might be able to assist me in this matter. the transaxle should not have shifted into the wrong gear, it also should have not exploded because it was in above red line.*jb.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 66000 miles. Mitsubishi 3000gt 1996 Reports
1998 3000gt sl, automatic transmission periodically loses power when shifting into passing at 50 to 60 miles per hour. Had transmission rebuilt but the problem is still happening. Any ideas to the cause? 1998 mitsubishi galant seems to be having anti-theft problems. My guess, what the car is doing, is starting up, being able to drive it, but it kind of feels funny, I get to where I'm going, and turn off the car, when I come back, it won't start. I My son has a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer LS with about 120, 000 miles on it. The blend door is stck and i need to find the blend door kit for it. Does a nybody know where i might get it! 2003 Mitsubishi Montero sport, gets cold horn goes off and finally breaks and seems to be on most of the time now. Mitsubishi won't recall to fix their garbage and want to charge you 1K to fix, but that just makes me a 1 time customer. Mitsubi No recall for the knob. There is a recall on the gearing for the air blend door on the airbox under the dash right above the gas pedal. it has improved geometry so you dont have to exert as much force on the knob for the air blend door to move. a mine is broke too. cant change it to defrost mode. just blows out cold air in my face Temp. control knob is broke. the knob to choose from feet defog, etc only turns a little bit. its all jacked up. 2003 lancer i have a 99 mits eclipse GS '99 model and i pushed a latch on the inside of the passenger door and now it wont go back so now the door wont close.. anyone have any ideas how to release it so that my will close thanks much appreciated... Whats the problem with the endeavor windshield it keeps cracking this is my third time replacing it in my 2004 2002 Galant. Won't take fuel through the fuel neck at a normal pace. Keeps backing up. Has all emmision and EVAP checked and all are functioning. I replaced fuel filler neck and made sure all vent hoses were clear. What else could it be? Has anyone had problems with their check engine lights? I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Oulander the serive light will not go out, the diagnostics state a evap leak yet despite all testing there is no leak detected.
