Mercury Grand Marquis Service Brakes, Hydraulic Antilock Safety Report | Dec 15, 2001

Reported on Dec 15, 2001

SINCE NEW, THE VEHICLE HAS HAD BRAKE ISSUES. AFTER ABOUT ONE MONTH, THE BRAKES CONSTANTLY SQUEALED ON APLICATION, DEGENERATING INTO A HARD CONTACT RUMBLE CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO VIBRATE. THE DEALER HAS SERVICE THE VEHICLE THREE TIMES AND REPLACED THE BRAKES TWICE. AFTER EVERY REPAIR, THE ISSUES RE-APPEAR. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER OF DOWNTOWN LINCOLN MERCURY TO ROLL UP MY WINDOWS AND TURN UP THE RADIO . THERE IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT IN THE BRAKES AND/OR THE BRAKING SYSTEM ON THIS VEHICLE THAT FORD DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY REPAIR.*AK
