MERCEDES BENZ R350 2008 car safety problem was reported on Apr 10, 2009.MERCEDES BENZ R350 2008, manufactured by MERCEDES-BENZ USA, LLC. had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . 06 april 2008 ¿ vehicle leased from hoehn motors, carlsbad, ca roughly january 2009 to present ¿ transmission slips (changes gears unexpectedly) on several occasions. unable to reproduce reliably, so we did not bring the car in or report. 10 april 2009 ¿ (mileage 17533) vehicle suddenly loses power under operation. esp light is on. vehicle coasts to a stop. vehicle towed to mercedes benz of laguna niguel. dealership cannot reproduce problem, but finds esp software is old. dealer updates esp software. 29 july 2009 ¿ (mileage 22399) loud clanging and grinding noise while driving. immediately pulled to side of road. vehicle towed to mercedes benz of laguna niguel. dealership diagnosed as faulty transmission and replaced transmission. july-sept 2009 ¿ transmission still slips (changes gears unexpectedly) on several occasions. unable to reproduce reliably, so we do not bring the car in or report. 25 sept 2009 ¿ (mileage 24703 ¿ dealer has vehicle) vehicle suddenly loses power under operation. esp light is on (same symptoms as event on april 10, 2009). vehicle coasts to a stop. vehicle towed to mercedes benz of laguna niguel. dealership cannot reproduce or isolate problem. verbally notified the service rep,that the transmission has ¿slipped¿ on several occasions. standard, scheduled service also performed. 02 oct 2009 ¿ (mileage 24783) vehicle returned to us after a week. transmission still slips november 2009 - returned car, filing lemon law lawsuit. *tr.Mileage was 17533 miles.
