Mazda Mazda5 2007 Power Train

Mazda Mazda5 2007 Power Train Review #10185931

MAZDA MAZDA5 2007 car safety problem was reported on Mar 14, 2007.MAZDA MAZDA5 2007, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with POWER TRAIN . 2007 mazda5 with automatic transmission stalls ocassionally when accelerating from a stop at traffic lights. happens most often when starting on an uphill grade. dealership was unable to observe the problem and therefore unable to fix it. in addition, the engine intermittenly loses power for about 1 second while driving at approximately 20 mph. this happens about 4-5 time per week, never more than once on the same day. it usually happens within the first 1/2 mile of driving the car. the dealership was also unable to observe this problem or fix it. i expressed my concern to the dealership and to mazda customer assistance that stalling while pulling into traffic could be a life threatening occurrence, but they insisted that nothing could be done until the problem worsens to the point where a mechanic can observe it. the fact that many others have mentioned the same problem on online user forums did not seem to make a difference. i do not feel safe driving this otherwise wonderful vehicle..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 100 miles. Mazda Mazda5 2007 Equipment Review #10192830

MAZDA MAZDA5 2007 car safety problem was reported on Dec 13, 2006.MAZDA MAZDA5 2007, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with EQUIPMENT . i purchased a 2007 mazda 5. this is a decent car but at colder temperatures the vehicle will stall and shutter about 1-3 minutes after start up. the colder it gets and the more miles that the car gets on it the more often this occurs. the dealership told me that this is a common issue and that mazda has told them to flash again the computer. that was done and did not fix the issue. it is very dangerous if i pull out in traffic and this vehicle fails i am hauling myself and my husband and 4 kids that is going to be something that is mazda's fault for not remedying the situation. this now occurs after driving and coming to a slow or a stop. also when the temperatures are from 35-40 degrees the front right wheel makes an awful noise sometimes squeaking and then sometimes a grinding noise. the dealership informed me that it is "heavy, and excessive grease in the ball joint". now that the temperature is warmer you cannot hear this anymore. the vehicle has 13,000 miles and while driving on the interstate at 60-65 mph and you put on the brakes the steering wheel shakes and acts as if the brakes are warped. when the temperature is hot outside the a/c works poorly with a temp out of the vents at 47 degrees. when stopping at a drive through resturant or at the bank the smell of burning antifreeze is very noticable. there is no visable leaks but the smell of antifreeze is evident. this is a poor designed, overpriced, not advertised vehicle that mazda should work out the bugs in, or give the money back to the customers. this car has been in the shop 7 times since new for these issues that mazda said they dont know how to fix yet. i have given them time and the opportunity now my lemon law will be running out and i dont want stuck with a lemon. *ak.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 1200 miles. MAZDA MAZDA5 2007 car safety problem was reported on Sept 18, 2007.MAZDA MAZDA5 2007, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with SEAT BELTS . there is an apparent design flaw with the third row safety belt. the anchor for the shoulder is too far forward to secure the belt against the rear passenger which would lead to injury in the event of a collision. we hope this could be remedied in future models or possibly correct for current models on the road. we feel insecure about letting our children in their buster seats ride in the third-row or even adults when we have a full car. we would hope that nhtsa can determine risk of potential issues not just ones that have already caused injury. thanks *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mazda Mazda5 2007 problem was reported in BALTIMORE, MD. Mazda Mazda5 2007 Tires Review #10292605

MAZDA MAZDA5 2007 car safety problem was reported on Nov 11, 2009.MAZDA MAZDA5 2007, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with TIRES . after just 24,000 miles, i had to replace the tires on my 2007 mazda5 due to "cupping." with just 5,000 miles on the new tires, the same thing is happening again. when i contacted mazda regarding this, i was told it was a "design flaw" , and that if i didn't like the noise and the vibration from the tires, then i would just have to replace them frequently. this is not acceptable, due to the safety issues of driving on bad tires. i also can't afford $700.00+ a year for new tires. if it is a "design flaw", then mazda should be responsible for fixing this issue. when my car was in for service at the dealer last week, i was told it had a vibration at about 60 miles/hour, and that i should get it aligned. took it to a local garage, and was told it was not out of alignment. vibration was not there before they worked on the car at the dealer. i have also had the car to the dealer 3 times for a noise in the back end, and they could never find anything wrong. this last time, they did find i had a leaky shock. (i actually had to tell them to look for it after having the car in a neighborhood garage, and they found it." have been told by the same neighborhood garage that my rotors are bad and need replaced, but mazda felt they only needed to be "machined". *tr.Mileage was 22000 miles. Mazda Mazda5 2007 Suspension Review #10328734

MAZDA MAZDA5 2007 car safety problem was reported on Dec 23, 2009.MAZDA MAZDA5 2007, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with SUSPENSION . in december 2009 i was driving back from allentown airport and when i went over bumps the back of the car swayed and made a terrible knocking noise. i took it to the mazda dealer and they said it was the front bushing and the rear trailing arms. the car felt very unsafe to drive, so i had them do the work. they charged me 398.00 for a 45.00 part. i'm still having the same issue and when i contact the dealer they told me that it was probably because one of the rims were bent on my car! this is not the case. i have downloaded a service bulletin from the mazda site (no 02-001/08). i brought this bulletin to their attention and they said they did not complete this work and that i should bring in the bulletin and show it to them. my question is if the bulletin specifically indicates the problem that i reported to them on dec 2009, why didn't they perform what was suggested on the bulletin? also, not to mention my car is not under warranty any longer.......i will never buy a mazda again. i'm bringing the car back to them on 5/5/2010 and i'll keep you updated. *tr.Mileage was 71799 miles. Mazda Mazda5 2007 Suspension Rear Review #10329916

MAZDA MAZDA5 2007 car safety problem was reported on May 11, 2010.MAZDA MAZDA5 2007, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with SUSPENSION:REAR . the rear shocks on my 2007 mazda5 have failed for the second time. the first time was in the 40,000 mile range. at the time i though it was one shock going bad, and impacting and causing the other to go bad as well. because i was out of warranty, i did not return to my mazda dealer for repair under warranty. also i did not go to them because i found a local garage that put in mazda original replacements at a cheaper price. however, at 89,000 miles, my rear shocks have failed again! this is both dangerous, as the rear end is unstable over bumpy roads, and very costly to do every 40 - 50,000 miles. as can be seen in your own listing of several years of mazda5 complaints, problems with the suspension, and the rear suspension in particular, are common. *tr.Mileage was 40000 miles. Mazda Mazda5 2007 Unknown Or Other Review #10382328

MAZDA MAZDA5 2007 car safety problem was reported on May 20, 2010.MAZDA MAZDA5 2007, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with UNKNOWN OR OTHER . (5/2010) at my local mazda dealer during routine rotation maintenance of my tires i observed unusual ware on the inner areas of the tire tread areas and a grove carved on the inner sides of the tires. the grove was exposing areas of the steel belt of the tires. the first recommendation from mazda was to replace the tires, soon. after speaking with the mazda service rep he informed me that this issue has been known to occur in mazda 3¿s and that mazda came out with a longer upper control arm to help correct the alignment issue with the tires. the mazda dealer inquired and found no recalls or bulletins with the mazda 5 that could help me pay for the new, longer upper control arms for the rear of my car. they did find evidence that supported this alignment issue with mazda 3¿s. my cost to replace the upper control arms in the rear of the car would be approximately $400. at that time i paid to have my vehicles tires realigned at the mazda dealer & purchased 4 new bridgestone tires from a reputable tire garage 2 weeks later. (12/2010) six months later the same wearing of the tires was noticed during routine rotation maintenance of my tires. the mazda dealer again recommended that i purchase the longer upper control arms to see if that corrects the issue. (1/2011) i then contacted mazda corporate. they were sympathetic and agreed that this issue was not an anomaly; however, they were unable to assist me. they commented that since the dealer suggested this correction to the issue, they should probably help me. the mazda dealer told me that it is a mazda corporate issue. i drive my mazda 5 in constant fear that the tires will blow out and i will get in an accident. this should not be. mazda told me that the correction is new longer control arms. this is a mazda safety issue. why would i have pay for the defective upper control arm to not drive my car in fear of blowing tires?.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):JM1CR293570. Mazda Mazda5 2007 problem was reported in MOUNT PLEASANT, SC. Vehicle was not using Cruise Control.

Mazda Mazda5 2007 Steering Review #10396154

MAZDA MAZDA5 2007 car safety problem was reported on Oct 29, 2010.MAZDA MAZDA5 2007, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with STEERING . my vehicle was stopped at an intersection as i was waiting for an opportunity to make a left turn. as i was then making a left turn, i realized that i had lost power steering and i thought that the vehicle would completely lose all of its power and hence, its ability to move and cause me to come to a halt in the middle of the intersection. there was an oncoming car, so i just struggled to turn the wheel while i pushed down the accelerator. thankfully, i made it out of the intersection on time. however, this situation could have had a completely different outcome. after it happened a number of times, i decided to do some research and found that there was a recall on some of the 2007 to 2009 mazda 5 models due to power steering loss. i took my car to my local mazda dealer, but was told that my vin number was not included in the recall. i then called mazda to have my vin included in the recall, but was denied because i was told that my car was manufactured in 11/09/06, and thus cannot be included. i feel that my vehicle should be included in the recall and so i ask that you do investigation on similar situations, as this is a very serious issue that should be addressed as soon as possible. thank you..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 25700 miles. MAZDA MAZDA5 2007 car safety problem was reported on Jan 10, 2008.MAZDA MAZDA5 2007, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with POWER TRAIN . we purchased our 2007, mazda 5 new in jan. 2007 from a local dealership. at a little over 9,000 miles the car began to hesitate and we returned to the dealership for the first service to "fix" the problem. to fast forward, here we are dec. 31st, 2011 and now we are dealing with not only hesitation and stalling, but now the car actually "bucks" while driving it only adding to the dangers of driving it. this is a well documented problem as we have continued to return it the same dealership each time only to be told it was "fixed". this has become a safety concern, and a financial woe. why the lack of concern by mazda and other agencies that know of this problem but have not made mazda admit the problem and recall these cars before someone is killed. not everyone is in the position to just buy another car if they seem to have a "lemon". i would really like to know my recourse in all of this....to drive a unsafe car?, to hope i or a family member won't be hurt of killed in it until such time i can trade it in? and then feel guilty that some other person is purchasing my unsafe car? i hope that there is "some hope" by contacting your agency. if nothing else if you won't help me, maybe i can warn someone else about this car. *kb.Mileage was 9284 miles.
