MAZDA CX-9 2008 car safety problem was reported on Feb 25, 2011.MAZDA CX-9 2008, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM . this complaint is related to how the 2008 mazda cx9 handles when the road conditions have a layer of snow or ice. when driving on a flat surface the car is fine. when driving up a very slight incline, the car does not perform. the tires that are put on this car from factory are not good, which causes the traction control to engage frequently. the problem arises when the traction control is on. per the manual, the traction control comes on to reduce rpm. we have found that when the traction control is activated, the vehicle has no power - it feels like it is in neutral - there is no engine sound when pressing the accelerator. this leaves the driver stuck with absolutely no power to continue to drive. this is a safety concern since there is no power to move out of other drivers way. this has happened with both drivers of the vehicle. we have reported this to mazda dealership 5 times. we have requested someone drive with us so we can replicate the situation. they were unable to get us an appointment right away. the last request to mazda service was feb. 2011, it was explained that we wanted to bring the car in so someone could drive it in the snowy conditions. they said they would call us when they could fit us in. we did not receive a call for 3 days. we had to call them. the roads were clear when we finally got an appointment and could not replicate the situation. the problem continues. *tr.Mileage was 25505 miles. MAZDA CX-9 2008 car safety problem was reported on Feb 17, 2011.MAZDA CX-9 2008, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM . 2008 cx-9 mazda with 25,644 miles appears to have exact same problem as recalled toyotas in that the driver's cx-9 original rubber floor mat moves up towards front of vehicle with use & lodges under the plastic panel on the lower left side of the foot well, (photographs available upon request). when the floor mat lodges under plastic panel in this manner, it causes both the tcs indicator light and the tcs off light to permanently illuminate. tcs / brake assist system ceases to function & cannot be overridden with tcs on/off button. vehicle is under warranty and has been brought to dealership twice for same issue. the first time the tcs system was "re-set" by computer & was advised by service tech. that vehicle was now fine, (floor mat involvement unknown at this time). the second time, the vehicle was brought back in, (less than 5,000 miles after first time it was brought in), as the tcs indicator light / tcs off light were illuminated and tcs brake assist system was not operating and service tech spent most of morning with vehicle. at the end of this visit, the service tech. advised that he had determined incidents were caused by floor mat moving up under brake / gas pedal & that mat was "interfering with the brake assist system in that it was preventing it from completing the circuit". i was advised to remove the floor mat from the vehicle. clips to secure the mat would prevent these incidents. note: when the floor mat becomes lodged while driving, i cannot physically dislodge it from under the plastic panel until stopped as two hands (and a lot of strength) are needed to do so. i find their recommendation to remove the floor mat unacceptable as the floor mat traps dirt / debris. i continue to use the floor mat but am extremely careful about not allowing it to move while driving. others may not know potential hazard exists. MAZDA CX-9 2008 car safety problem was reported on Jan 02, 2013.MAZDA CX-9 2008, manufactured by MAZDA MOTOR CORP had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . i was referred to contact you regarding unintended acceleration cases with the mazda cx-9s. i was a victim of this on january 2, 2013. upon researching, i was made aware that several other consumers have posted their experience that exactly matched what i experienced. i need to take legal action and warn other innocent drivers before someone is killed or maimed. i have been seeking legal action because mazda is doing a complete cover up, identical to how toyota handled their unintentional acceleration cases for many years before people began dying. to date, i have been told by all attorneys i have contacted that had i been killed or maimed, i would have a case. i can not believe in this country that we have to wait until people are maimed or killed when we have plenty of evidence that there is a deadly problem. there must be something we can do before innocent people have to die. mazda told me (just like all the other victims) there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car, they could not replicate the 60 mph to 100+ mph unintended acceleration during rush hour and that no repairs would be made. eleven days later, mazda corporate called to tell me that my parts had been ordered and would be installed that day. i said "what parts??!!!" they told me to call the dealer who was shocked that i knew about the repairs and told me that yes, they were replacing parts but they had nothing to do with the unintended acceleration. now that the car has been fixed, i'm not able to prove that there was anything wrong with it. had there been snow or other road conditions, i would have been in a major accident. i have lots of back up documentation i can provide. . i pushed as hard as i could with both feet on the brake (knees locked), the emergency brake on and the car in park. with all of those actions combined, my car still would not stop. no damage-impossible! *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 50400 miles. (sun roof glass exploded) at 400pm we were traveling north on us65 at 65 mph, the sun roof was in the tilted open position, the nearest traffic to our location was 500 yards ahead of us. the music was playing and the four vehicle occupants were relaxed and talking. suddenly with a very loud sound the sun roof glass exploded/shattered covering all occupants in glass shards. the driver maintained complete control on the vehicle and made an immediate emergency stop. the passenger front occupant injured her neck during the violent reaction from the sound/explosion and covering in glass and will need treatment. nothing struck the vehicle!!! this failure was caused by the sun roof and needs to be addressed by mazda and the glass supplier. the type of failure could very well cause a serious accident and could cause loss of life. the sun roof glass should be re-enforced to prevent glass from spraying on the vehicles occupants. we have contacted mazda north america and were offered a 250.00 good will amount, money was never our issue of concern, this is a very serious safety issue and the root cause should be found and corrected before someone gets seriously injured. this type of failure is noted in many accounts on the internet and needs to addressed. .1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 51490 miles. MAZDA CX-9 2008 car safety problem was reported on Oct 01, 2013.MAZDA CX-9 2008, manufactured by Mazda Motor Corp. had a problem with STRUCTURE:BODY . returned to vehicle after work (5pm) and saw that both side mirrors were damaged. a closer look revealed that the painted portion to both side mirror housing units had melted. it appeared the plastic had melted from internal heat. there were no burn marks on the outer portion of the unit. the plastic had shrunk to a shriveled and wrinkled appearance. brought the vehicle to a mazda dealer (escondido, california). the vehicle was inspected and nothing was found to be wrong. i was told there was no electrical problem and the melted side mirror units were melted from the sun. i do not live in arizona, new mexico, or southern nevada where temperatures reach above 105 degrees consistently. temperatures typically reach 80-95 degrees. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 65000 miles.
