I was on park and engine running suddenly without pressing gas pedal the engine started to increase to 3000 rpm on idle speed it should be on 1000 rpm.. why does it go to 3000 rpm without pressing the accelerator pedal there is a burnt wire smell coming from near the gas tank area. It starting happening a few days ago. And now the check engine light has also appeared on. The smell only comes after running the car for long periods like 1hour. Anyone know where I My 2011 Kia Sedona started to accelerate wth my foot on the brake 3 times now. I shifted into neutral and turned off the key. I was in a parking lot on all three occations. The last time it happened I had to restart the engine twice to make it nor 04 kia sorento , it is doing this jerk and the ck engine light came on and went right back off. then it jerked ck engine light came on and the car shut down. i started it back up and it was fine, did the jerk thing again, but no ck light, got th OPTIMA 2004 V6 LX, manufactured by KIA MOTORS AMERICA, INC. my vehicle reached 300,000 problem with instruments air bag & engine lights not working what is wrong?
