Jeep Wrangler 4-dr 4x4 Fuel System, Gasoline Safety Report | Nov 01, 2009

Reported on Nov 01, 2009

AT VARIOUS GAS STATIONS WITH TESTED EQUIPMENT, THE PUMP WILL FILL THE TANK AND THEN THE TANK WILL OVERFLOW BEFORE THE PUMP CAN SHUT OFF. MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER JK HAS BEEN FILLED UP AT THE SAME GAS STATIONS FOR 2 YEARS, AND WITH THE SAME PUMP EQUIPMENT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE TANK NOT CREATING ENOUGH PRESSURE FOR THE NOZZLE TO AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF. THE ONLY REMEDY THAT HAS BEEN GIVEN FROM THE DEALER IS FOR ME TO PAY FOR A NEW GAS TANK, WHICH THEY WILL NOT WARRANTY AGAINST THIS IN THE FUTURE. THIS IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY ISSUE AS THIS LETS GAS SEEP INTO THE WATER TABLE, AND IN SO. FL THAT IS PRETTY MUCH STRAIGHT TO THE OCEAN. *TR
