JEEP COMMANDER 2010 car safety problem was reported on June 29, 2012.JEEP COMMANDER 2010, manufactured by CHRYSLER GROUP LLC had a problem with ENGINE . i just purchased a used 2010 jeep commander limited with 5.7 hemi from philpot motors and brought it home june 25th, 2012. on friday, june 29th on my way home the engine completely shut off twice within 10 minutes. both times it was as i was coming to a complete stop. i had to put it in park and turn the key and it started right back up like nothing was wrong. philpot had it brought to an authorized jeep dealer (allen samuels) where it sat for 2 weeks and they couldn't figure it out or reproduce the problem. philpot suggested they change the tipm (power module) and re-flash the memory which they did. i got it back and drove it for about a month and once again it happened at a stop sign when my wife was driving it. the engine stopped completely and she had to put it in park and restart it. it just dies with no warning at complete random times when coming to a complete stop. i was disgusted and so philpot took it once again and sent it to allen samuels. they had it for another 2 weeks and still could not replicate the problem nor find one. they even contacted chrysler engineers and they couldn't offer any advice. i just got it back the other day because they couldn't figure it out. i even contacted chrysler group myself after the first occurrence and the girl was rude to me on the phone. she couldn't or wouldn't help me find a solution to the problem because i wasn't the authorized service center. she said the authorized mechanic could only contact their techs, not a consumer. i can't believe that chrysler engineers and authorized service people cannot find or replicate a problem that's happened three times now. i just wanted my jeep fixed but i guess chrysler doesn't have the knowledge or know how to pinpoint what is causing this dangerous problem. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 62000 miles. JEEP COMMANDER 2010 car safety problem was reported on Apr 09, 2013.JEEP COMMANDER 2010, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with EXTERIOR LIGHTING . in april of 2013 i started having tilting issues with my high-intensity discharge headlamps automatic headlamp leveling system. my vehicle is a 2010 jeep commander. when i drive at night my lights would lower all the way down randomly, leaving the road infront of me pitch black. i have been forced to drive with my high beams on during these episodes until the lights would raise again to the normal setting. with in the last two weeks the lights won't raise at all and i am forced to limit my driving after dark. i have 2 small children and clearly this poses a safety issue. i took my vehicle to cueter jeep in ypsilanti, mi to have the problem fixed and the service tech told me that he couldn't fix the problem because he couldn't duplicate the problem. ( a recap: the problem was that the lights would not move into a level adjustment at this point as i explained to the service tech.) when i dropped off my vehicle i also had an oil change and tailgate work done. i left the vehicle overnight for all the work to be completed as they were waiting for tailgate parts(drop off time at cueter jeep service 7am thursday april 25,2013/ pick up time 12pm friday april 26,2013). the service tech told me at the pick up time that he couldn't duplicate the problem and that he couldn't fix the headlight problem and that the headlights were acting that way because the highbeam auto dim was turned on, in which was not the case as that feature was not turned on nor have i ever turned that feature on. may 1,2013 9:31am, i talked with the service manager at cueter jeep (richard bayer) and he told me that they couldn't figure out the problem unless i left the vehicle over night so they can drive it at night and i explained to him that i did and also confirmed that the tech's leave the dealership at 6pm. so my safety issue hasn't been resolved by cueter jeep, my 5 star dealer. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 48000 miles. JEEP COMMANDER 2010 car safety problem was reported on July 01, 2012.JEEP COMMANDER 2010, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . commander will turn off when pulling away from a stop sign, pulling into the garage, turning a corner. the first event was turning left from a stop light after i had been going 65mph on the highway. 11/26/2012 this vehicle to dealership following several more stalls while driving. nothing was noted on the dealership evaluation. the most frightening event was on the highway at 60mph and simply died in the middle lane in the dark, at night. i thought i was going to die on that road. the engine panels all went down, lights went off, engine shut off. this vehicle continued to die at unexpected intervals on the road. 10/28/13 the dealership stated tipm was shorted internally, the tipm was replaced. this vehicle has continues to die while driving on the road, pulling away from a stoplight or simply turning a corner or driving into the garage from the driveway. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 24000 miles. (wk) jeep® grand cherokee. 2006 - 2010. (xk) jeep commander, the transfer case of our car could not be shifted out of 4-high to either neutral or 4-low. consequently a major drive train component has been destroyed. this demonstrates the software is defective and potentially dangerous and may not correct the reason for the recall. this is completely unacceptable and is indeed a safety risk. chrysler has not remedied the problem even after thousands of complaints. i demand that nhtsa force chrysler's hand in this matter as nothing is being done to fix this faulty recall! *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 45000 miles. JEEP COMMANDER 2010 car safety problem was reported on June 20, 2014.JEEP COMMANDER 2010, manufactured by Chrysler (FCA US LLC) had a problem with ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL . in continuation of my previous complaint 10563803 since the n23 recall disabled the 4 low in the transfer case of my jeep, jeep has been attempting to repair it. the most recent repair was completed on 6/19 and per the dealer jeep had them hard wire circuits t313 and k594 on my vehicle. while traveling at 75 mph the warning indicators for both the traction control system and the electronic stability program lit. shutting the vehicle off and restarting did not clear the issue. i believe that both of these system are mandated by nhtsa in 75% of all vehicles sold in this model year and it appears that jeep is compromising these systems in an attempt to fix a related problem. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 75000 miles.
