Isuzu Rodeo Service Brakes, Air Antilock Abs Warning Light Safety Report | Apr 28, 2004

Reported on Apr 28, 2004

IN DECEMBER 2002, I HAD THE ABS MODULE REPLACED DUE TO THE UNIT 'BEING FRIED' ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC. ONE YEAR LATER, THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THERE IS SPORATIC BRAKING SLIPPAGE ESPECIALLY BRAKING DOWN HILL. UNFORTUNATELY, THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THERE IS A $100 DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM BEFORE LOOKING AT ANYTHING. AFTER DIAGNOSTIC TEST, THE DEALER STATES THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR SENSOR (ANOTHER $160 TO FIX). THE 99 ISUZU RODEO ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES AT THIS POINT AND HAS TWO PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS SYSTEM. THE DEALER DID A VIN SEARCH AND MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL.
